Maybe it would be a good idea if the commander could even shoot out of his hatch when he pops up. Also what if an infantry man could run up, and shot his gun into the slits?

The slits got armoured glass. But it would be nice if the armoured glass could be made harder to see through when hit.

I hope that tanks will be able to use all pistol ports and allow for firing out of the hatch (perhaps sometimes with a top mounted mg.

Turret MGs were only added to German tanks later, as far as I know, and were used mostly for AA duties, only really rarely were they used in actual combat, and I'm not sure whether the Soviets had them at all, other then on the :IS2:

Yes, this would really add to the immersion of fighting a tank. It would be really cool if an infantryman could climb onto a stationary tank, open the hatch and drop a grenade inside.

Climb the tank? What is this, Mercenaries 2? That hatch would be locked anyways

It's realistic (as in possible to do), it's just not, um how do I put it.....
Smart.

If you were in your character's shoes, you'd face the screen and slap the player for even thinking about endangering your life like that. In short: you could but wouldn't do that in real life.

Now rolling grenades under the tank............

Doesn't DH model this already? I'd assume this would make it into ROHOS, since Ramm mentioned greater detail on systems that could be damaged.

Tank crew had to open turret hatch during firing to air the tank. There is no ventilation in the tank, so all exhaust gases from firing fill the tank every time the breech is opened. If I remember good, regulations says that after each 3 shots tank interiors should be ventilated.

No. They did not have to. And many times they did not. Especially when in possibility to meet infantry.

There is no ventilation in the tank,

Yes, there was in most models. But sure, it was not allways that efficient.

so all exhaust gases from firing fill the tank every time the breech is opened.

And that

They did have them on the T-34/85 and the T-34/76 tanks built in 1943, but as both of those are out of the time span of the game, it doesn't really matter.

Hmm, were they used in the German model, for AA duties, or could you commonly see them attached at all times and used in an anti-infantry role?
I really do not know much on the Soviet usage of turret MGs...
