Maybe it would be a good idea if the commander could even shoot out of his hatch when he pops up. Also what if an infantry man could run up, and shot his gun into the slits?
Climb the tank? What is this, Mercenaries 2? That hatch would be locked anyways
Meh yea probably. What can I say... even I am a victim of cliches.Isn't that a myth started by Saving Private Ryan? I mean, those things contain armoured glass I think.
The slits got armoured glass. But it would be nice if the armoured glass could be made harder to see through when hit.
I hope that tanks will be able to use all pistol ports and allow for firing out of the hatch (perhaps sometimes with a top mounted mg.
That hatch would be locked anyways
Tank crew had to open turret hatch during firing to air the tank.
There is no ventilation in the tank,
so all exhaust gases from firing fill the tank every time the breech is opened.
Turret MGs were only added to German tanks later, as far as I know, and were used mostly for AA duties, only really rarely were they used in actual combat, and I'm not sure whether the Soviets had them at all, other then on the :IS2:
