Sharpshooter Perk

I don't get it - I have 24/30 headshots to level up my sharpshooter perk and despite getting headshots all the time most of them don't count! Help?

headshots only count with handcannon (not dual handcannons), Rifles and crossbow only. regular handgun wont level you up. hope this help you!

when you see the brains blowing out the head then its a headshot.
no brain no headshot.
