Well, from watching the video, I would guess that Merdic wanted to demonstrate ways to kill Scrakes as a Sharpshooter while also incorporating Commando weapons.
pretty sure he is demonstrating that just about any weapon can be effective as sharpshooter given the headshot bonus recieved. Scar/Crossbow is an effective loadout, and my personal favorite is Mk23/Hunting Shotgun. you dont have to stick to vanilla loadouts to play your role well.
This section of the forums is called "Killing Floor Tactics", like the others said, just demonstrating some interesting tactics.
I thought this is something special/unusual. I don't see the point of killing SC this way if you have enough ammo for lar. If you don't then break los.
