we're all adults here, no one should need to purposefully throw a game to appease the egos of others

When asked to tone it down you were rather "uncooperative" and told the Admin what to do.
Ultimately, you wore out your welcome. Temporarily.

don't quite know where you got that. I was extremely cooperative before you perma-banned me from your servers for that single instance. You had already made up your mind that I was cheating, and anything that came out of my mouth was irrelevant to you. I say that "I saw your head sticking up over the sandbags you were hiding behind", you say "you have all the right answers, don't ya?!"I made a thread in your forums to further explain my point of view and that no cheats were involved... that just seemed to irk you more. I also remember trying to add you on steam before I made the thread to discuss it with you privately-- you blocked all communication. In the end it doesn't matter lol, there's a thousand servers to choose from.

You weren't session banned for TK'ing.... you were for disrupting the server.

Many players complained about your seemingly invincibility and excessive kills. When asked to tone it down you were rather "uncooperative" and told the Admin what to do. Ultimately, you wore out your welcome. Temporarily.

Unfortunately Mike even a good friend of yours says you're a bit too "easily pissed off" on your server (he said it in good spirit). You perma-banned me from your DH server for killing too near your spawn (was a genuine mistake, it was a brand new map for me) and I didn't get a chance to explain. I emailed you and mentioned being a friend of your friend and what had happened but got no reply.

I should add that your server population dropped over a period of a couple of weeks from a healthy 20+ to an average of five in the end.

Say hi to Exo. ;)

You go off topic

I don't think my suggestion that a bunch of the session bans are auto bans for accidental tking is off topic.

I do think that the thread falling into a discussion of the specific behavior of a specific server admin is fairly off topic, since the thread wasn't titled "let me complain about Server X".

With all that said, I was once session banned for accidentally tking a server clan member. I know it was manually done because it was done 10 seconds after the TK(and not the instant shot hits and you're banned auto-ban). It was totally justified, as he was doing the solo run and gun behind enemy lines and didn't totally look like a german.

I love tanking, so I am always happy to get on to a Gumrak server. A few days ago I got into a T34 and made a push for a German objective. I spotted a German tank only some 70m ahead of me, so I stopped and reversed into a hull down position. I had a slight elevation advantage over the German tank but not enough to actually penetrate the top armour. I hit him about ten times while he kept hitting the ground in front of me. Suddenly he stopped firing at me so I assumed I had taken out the gunner.

A few seconds later his tank explodes, but almost in the same instant I was kicked and session banned. What gives? Pounding a stationary tank parked in the open from a hull down position is poor sportsmanship?

On combined arms maps like Commissars, RedOktober and Fallen I have completely massacred enemy infantry while taking objectives and racked up ridiculous scores, in fact any time the enemy team has inexperienced tankers or no AT rifles I can dominate the enemy team. I have never been banned for doing so however. That one time mentioned first where I used the simplest of tank tactics got me banned though. I probably deserved it, I was totally meta gaming by doing stuff Soviet tank commanders were probably never educated in doing, ie using tactics more specific than just rolling up within 300m to pound the enemy.

Good admins should be able to tell the difference between good players and players using exploits/hacks or whatever you want to call it. I do my best to be fair and maintain "innocent until proven guilty."

For example, yesterday afternoon I was in a one of our servers playing the game (but I also have web admin running) when a couple of pubbies began to complain in our public TeamSpeak channel that player Fred (name changed obviously) "must be hacking! Just look at his kills and score!"

I said I'd look into it. Yes, he had a good score and at least twice as many kills at the rest of the players. So, I spent the next several rounds watching Fred. Yes, he was good; very good. But as I watched it turned out that he was plain good at the game and also got into cap zones as he should, made kills in those zone (more points), etc. But he died just as easily as the next player, too. So, at the end of the day, he was just good and rightly deserved his scores and kills.

I let him go about his business and went on playing.

Yeah, some admins will have bad days in their personal lives as well, but I hope the good ones outnumber the bad! :)

Very smart - a bit of consideration for the other players goes a long way in keeping a server populated.

Congratulations! I am awarding you the *Most pathetic server admin of the year* award.

This hasn't happened to me yet, but there have been a few matches where it possibly could have lol.

I don't like the idea that I should have to tone down my playing in order to not get banned for the session/perma banned, so I'll probably end up avoiding the servers mentioned if it manages to continue.

I've been session banned several times for doing too good because many admins I run across are just whiny babies. If I kill you 3 seconds from your spawn it's because your team is **** and isn't defending anything. Also, you should be more careful.

Although I've also been session banned for "swearing" which is the **** that needs to stay with Christian servers only. It's an M rated game and if you can't stand reading a swear word or hearing one then gtfo.

Granted, the majority of popular servers I play with don't care and don't resort to petty bans to gain the upper hand. It's still just a game.

It all depends on the server, some servers make sure their admins are mature adults who only ban when absolutely needed, while many others simply appoint any old power-hungry 13 year old who's sucked up to the owner long enough.

It is impossible to please all folk all the time.

As long as admins are even handed they shouldn't get or give too many issues.

After all it is up to the admin to set the tenure of the server group.
In my limited exposure to RO2 MP I have yet to be able to draw a bead on a target before I have been snuffed.
I barely get a chance to find out where I have spawned before BAM!
Respawn! :(
I think there is something to be said for designating the preferred skill level for each server.
If I join a noob server, I might live long enough to learn something.

Mike_Nomad - Baning people for being too good is not a good reason. As long as player is not cheating and playing fair everything is fine by me.

You guys who are "too good" are most likely being "too good" on "your own teammates" "too often".

Stop tking and start identifying targets before you shoot and you'll avoid the session bans. Problem solved.

This is complete conjecture on your behalf with no evidence whatsoever to solidify it.

He doesn't need a good reason, because its his server and he can do whatever he wants on it.

Just another reason not to play on his server.

Not for him, but for me. Otherwise I will avoid his server too. That won't keep server populated.

How would he tone down his kills? Simply not fire at the enemy or maybe he could purposely miss?

No, it's factual data backed up with empirical evidence. That's why I used 8 quotation marks in the two sentences like any trained Internet scientist would.
