ServerAds - setup recurring text/admin messages!

Anyone know of a character or ascii set that will give a "carriage return" in the admin message.

IIRC, in the Message of Day a | will produce a new line. Doesn't seem to work within an Admin message though.

Any ideas?

I've tried installing this twice.

Would you PLEASE provide more detail instructions on how to install this and provide troubleshooting information as well.

its quite simple to install this mutator...

Just read extract it to server keeping file structure...then just read the readme and follow the installation instructions...then after that...if all done properly...just use the webadmin to setup messages...

I got it working.

Installed it for a third time.

Third times the charm.

Now I got 2 firefox pages open auto refreshing the maxplayer limit 12 and maxzombiesonce to 64 every 10 seconds.

like, hey get rid of those pesky and annoyingly repetitive server messages that pop up all the time! lol

You can check by starting your internet browser and pointing it to:

You'll be asked for your Username and Password just as with the webadmin, then you will be presented with the following screen:

I have a server on mutliplay.co.uk. I have managed to get ServerAdsSE working, but I am unable to set it up from the .ini and have to use the web interface. This is a problem as every time the server is restarted the messages reset to the defaults.

In the .ini when I save it the defaults are placed again, and my edits are ignored and the new lines are referenced by the mutator not mine...it ends up looking like this:

Stop the server before editing the INI
Also remove the duplicate entries for sLines

ah, i had just restarted the server after editing, not stopped then edited then started it up. Thanks! ...the duplicate slines were jut added by the server, probably because it was running at the time of edit, so I will remove them all etc and start again.

ok, I have tried stopping the server before editing the .ini lines but it makes no difference. Whenever the mut is initialised it adds the lines to the .ini. I wonder whether this is a problem with how multiplay added it to their interface.

Did you try to use the webinterface that comes with the serverads mutator?

I don't have any problems with editing the ini directly when
the server is off though.

yes the webinterface is fine, but that does mean whenever the server is restarted it will go back to the defaults in the .ini

As it happens I have just tried one last idea and...it worked ^^

I allowed the mut/multiplay/whoever to add the lines they wanted to do on startup. The duplicate lines occurred when editing these so, rather than edit them I simply placed my desired lines and parameters further down the list, resulting in the defaults being overwritten when processed. It is now working perfectly.

Is there any method of making the messages stay on the screen for longer?

I don't mean the adminsay messages but the normal messages that appear in the chat area.

I don't think so, I've looked for serverside and clientside settings
and didn't find any variable that specified the time of displaying
chat messages

Can get the messages to display but webadmin for the ads will not load.

Browser asks for username and password as it should it then loads....page says done but all i see is a blank white page?

Any ideas

Group size 4 displays all 4 lines for me.

Where exactly do I put the ASCII to change the colour?
