Does this feature even work? i have set it all up but it will not download anything from the remote location.

Well its not working for me i have set: "hxxp://mydomain.com/kf/maps/" the remote file location.
And added that to the config where it says redirect:

[IpDrv.HTTPDownload]
RedirectToURL=http://mydomain.com/kf/maps/
ProxyServerHost=
ProxyServerPort=3128
UseCompression=True

Believe you need the compressed map files in there. There is an unreal compression tool I believe.

Compression is done with the main exe

Well how do i go about compressing the files?
The current file downloads but not from my webserver, any help or a brief tutorial would be much appreciated.

yes from a command prompt in the system directory just run:

ucc compress ..\maps\<mapname>.rom

This will generate <mapname>.rom.uz2 which you upload to your webserver.

To tell the server to get the client to download compressed versions:

[IpDrv.HTTPDownload]
UseCompression=True

Ok guys i fixed this by setting it like so change this:

[IpDrv.HTTPDownload]
UseCompression=True

to this:

[IpDrv.HTTPDownload]
UseCompression=False

Works fine

if you havent compressed the maps before uploading them to your redirect then yes you will need to disable compression. If they haven been compressed they will have .uz2 extension.

I didnt compress the maps and im using

but it does not work.

I tried compressing with UseCompression=True and doesnt work either.

I can confirm the redirect does not work. I set it up the same way I did in RO, but it does not work in KF.

Sad, SDK is out and we cant even put up custom maps.

That's not true it works just fine, you must have set something up wrong I'm afraid.

If you don't want to have to set it up all your self, you could always snag a server off us where its all setup and working for you and just a few clicks away : Multiplay - Killing Floor Servers

Ok guys i fixed this by setting it like so change this:

UseCompression=True

to this:

[IpDrv.HTTPDownload]
UseCompression=False

Works fine

Okay my KF server is located in C:\KS1 and my maps at \maps.

Would I use

http://myipaddress/maps

or

http://myipaddress/ks1/maps

or something else?

Depends what the document root of your webserver is, check your apache, iis etc config?
