I apologize if this isn't the correct place to post this. I have read a few posts in the forum and one that touched on what I am wanting to do but would like to seek some advise on if it would be possible for me to host a server on my home computer and connect to it to play from the same computer?

My computer is an AMD FX-8320 CPU with 16GB of ram. I could put 16GB more ram if needed. It would be mainly for my son who likes to play the tank battles and I may use it every once in a while but no other computers would be connecting to it.

Would such a thing be playable?

Thanks.

Did you consider playing against bots in your game, without having any server running? I mean, the "Steam Workshop" selection in Main Menu.

No I didn't know about that. Would that also allow other maps from the Steam workshop to be played?

Yes, or other maps downloaded from a server's redirect / manually installed. Workshop has bee known to cause issues.
