I followed the instructions in the sticky for making a dedicated server, but I'm having a bit of a problem getting my server to show up on the internet games list. I'm running it from the same computer that I'm trying to play the game on, it shows up in my LAN, but it doesn't show up on the internet games list and I can't even join it from my LAN. Are there some changes I need to make to KillingFloor.ini to make it work? By the way, I have all the needed ports open and I'm running a Windows server.

Ask your friends if they see it on their server lists. Sometimes I can't see my dedi on the server list when other people can.

I tried that last night and it didn't show up for any of them, either. Also, I tried to join the server from my LAN and I wasn't able to.

EDIT: The problem of not being able to join the server just happened today, after I set the open ports to 7707, 28852, and 20560. Yesterday, I opened up the third port down from each of those (7710, 28855, and 20563, respectively), and I was able to join. I changed my openings back to yesterday's configuration and I could join my own server on LAN.

EDIT 2: Tried changing the opened ports to the default ones, and I can join my own game. But the server IP is still a 192.168... and is still on my LAN. Tried to get my friend to join using the open IP command and my actual IP address, but it didn't work.

I got the same problem here. My problem were in my router, that was not Forwarding properly the ports. Tested them all with Simple Port Tester, now it accepts external connections without problems. In my case, my router don't show me my server on the Internet List, but i can connect it via LAN

Hi all, I'm having a similar kind of problem.
I have had a server up and running for months, when I found there was an update I used the updater to update the server files and started the server up again.
The server cannot be found in the in game browser, HLSW shows the server as timed out, and Gametracker shows it as online.
I'm guessing the update may have failed in some way, so there is a version missmatch or something, but I would have thought the server would still show in the server browser, and give a version error when trying to join, but it's just not there. Why would my admin tool show as the server is offline when gametracker shows it as online. Any one any ideas on what went wrong or how to fix it.
Thanks in advance for any help ;)

Try joining via the IP address to confirm if it works. If it does then there's nothing you can do since the server browser is rubbish and does not show all servers.

I have managed to fix it, basically I deleted the entire contents of the game folder, apart from my server killingfloor.ini file, then ran the updater and re-downloaded all the files, then dropped the .ini file back in. All working perfectly fine now.
I'm thinking that the first time I tried to update it, something went wrong, corrupt files or something. Deleting the hole folder contents and re-downloading will have given me the files back including the updates I botched first time round.
Thanks for the reply tho ;)

Dave.
