Server doesn't show up in the list.

Hello, I'm currently trying to host a server.

I've opened all the ports in the list, then I read this:

MasterServerList=(Address="207.135.144.10",Port=28902)
MasterServerList=(Address="207.135.144.11",Port=28902)

so I opened that port as well (I'm a novice at hosting so I thought that might help), but alas it didn't help.

I can monitor the server fine with GameTracker

http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/62.247.7.28:7707/

But I just can't get it to show up in the server list, and when I try to add it to favorites it just goes "Server is not responding"

Note: I'm using the Steam Browser.

you don't need to open those ports. The only ones you need are the ones posted in the sticky thread above, and for the port for the master server, be sure you are fowarding both TCP and UDP.

Check, all those ports are open.

Bumping this, still have the same problem.. Tried activating BehindNAT=True but it didn't fix anything.

When I browse the server list I'm getting very variable results.

Steam gives me 1200 or so which may climb to 1500.
In game browser gives me from 500 to 1800.

Looks like there are still a few issues to resolve with the master server.

What's your server external IP address and name please?

I got into your server, but it's not in the server list. Maybe you can take out the special characters in front of the name so it's easier to find alphabetically, just until you get it working.

EDIT: I just saw you in the server Arramus. I shut down the server to change name and enable webadmin.. Sadly it still doesn't show up in the list, and I can't connect to it by doing "open ip 62.247.7.28:7707" either, how did you manage to get in?

This is all very strange.. :/ Perhaps it's something on steams end?

This might be because your router doesn't support loopback, i.e. the ability for you to connect to your WAN ip address and then wrap back into the server.

That in itself isn't a big problem, since you can join the LAN address. But, obviously getting the server listed is the problem.

The server is on a remote machine, forgot to mention that.

Explain your server set up. It's remote...does that mean it's outside your network? Is it behind a router?

You have a Counter Strike server as well don't you? Can everyone see that in the browser lists?

It's in the garage of a friend, it's behind a router, an expensive one so one might expect it should be pretty modern.

It's hosted other servers such as 1.6 and CSS before.

I'm sorry I can't go into great detail, I'm not very good with networks.

EDIT: Yes my friend is running a cs server called ssrv HnS FUN Server 24/7, I can't check if it appears in the list as I don't have CS.

Strange.. I'm going to keep the server running for a few days, perhaps it will resolve itself.

My feeling is that the Steam Server Browser is pretty bugged,
I'm running 3 DoD:Source servers and 3 KF servers on the same
dedicated box and I never managed to find my DoD:S servers
in the browser, the KF servers show up fine though.

The DoD:S servers seem to be invisible for me only, because other
players can see them just fine.
