So when this IP joins the server, it crashs? Im wondering if people have found a way of crashing servers again like they did with Unreal Tournament. It's the same engine but im just wondering. I can't exactly say what is going on off the top of my head.

different port is normal.

I'd try and trace the ip, possibly complain to the ISP if you think they may deliberately doing it.
Ban the IP/ID and then go from there but make sure you back these up in a file for later use. If you notice more crashs happening, check the IP and see if that is constant too. Compare the two, previous and current, and see if there is a match. If they are doing it deliverately then you will know from that.

it will still crash when that hacker connects.
it is a bug with the gamespy thing that steam uses, where ports below 50000 crash all ut servers.
valve has yet to fix this, so you should post on their forums because it's their damned fault.
basically any little script kiddy can crash your server by connecting with a low port.
we get all sorts of attacks a lot, just because some teenager with greasy hair downloads a script so he can crash gameservers.

vavlve needs to get off their asses and fix this considering it's a 7 year bug.

yeah plenty, but we have scripts that track the servers and auto-start them if they go down.

it's still annoying cause as long as they run their low-port-connection bull**** the servers crash.

and it's not like it's a cpu intensive process, so they can hit 100 servers a second.

hey i think we should try to get everyone running a dedicated server to spam valve/steam about this exploit.
