If you have problems with the server browser, its better to use the built in steam server browser.

Steam Client > View > Servers > Filter by Game

This should be alot faster than loading the game up, waiting for the server browser to refresh and cause problems.

This only seems to work around 10% of the time. And when it does work it only shows a few servers. I haven't had so many problems with a game in a long time.
