I don't get it...why is he a "weakling"? I can't really think of any point in the 3 episodes so far where he has shown weakness...?

And what does the fact that his best friend is doing his wife have to do with anything, it's not like he knows about it yet.

3rd ep was a little slow...meh. I didn't dislike it.

He beat up a few dudes and took charge so he has that going for him. I think the problem is his appearance and his lines. He's probably the smallest male on the show besides Glen and he's got a very average, almost nerdy face. The way he talks and the things he says are very idealistic cornball bs. "I'm just a man looking for his wife and kid." "We stand together, not apart." Blah blah blah. Then add in the fact he got shot down for being an incompetent cop and his best friend banged his wife and the fact he's so devoted to his wife who isn't a likeable character herself and who also barely cares about him. He just comes off as a kinda pathetic dude trying to be a hardass leader.

Also Fed you should probably put that last post as a spoiler lol. That's a pretty big moment in the comics.

EDIT: Also I forgot about that photo album scene. I'm sure the first thing Rick wants to do when he gets back to his wife and kid after battling zombies is look at old pictures. Then that discussion over how he knew they were alive cause she took the pictures and some clothes. By that logic all of those people escaping Atlanta would have been alive. Hell, pretty much everyone else in the world would be alive. Stupid.

There is also one thing that should be taken into account (thing that happens a lot in TV) they burn out most of their budget in the first two episodes to catch the audience, and then the show takes a big breath for the rest of the season, with maybe one or two spectacular moments. Thats what I was saying to my friend before I saw this episode. Too many resources spent in the first two episodes, and episode 3 just seems to be confirming the theory for now.

Haven't seen any episodes, but why are you people so excited about it? What kind of a discussion is that - "episode two not top notch", "yeah, episode three does not deliver"... Surely, your interest must have abated by now, so why flog a deid hoarse.

Comes across like a discussion panel about Scottish weather, really.

Which is a shame (the fast 'zombie')

I have no problem with the main character being human like most of us. Of course I am still waiting for the story to develop more and see how they integrate action and more zombies, but I am enjoying the series right now.

Quite honestly, I get tired of shows where you have super cops, super lawyers, super forensic detectives etc etc where all the main characters are over the top unbelievable. I'd rather see how normal people deal with the stress of the situation at hand. If they have to spread certain story plots over several episodes to do that, I am ok with it. Its better than having each hour episode its own small mini-story.

Again, I haven't read the comic.

The show is entertaining despite the bad acting, corny dialogue, and simplistic social commentary. I really should have stopped watching by now.

I really don't see why people have an issue with this show. This show is better than 99% of the crap that is on TV. Better than, Glee, Idol, or any other contest, performance, reality show, much, much better.

I am tired of predictable, over the top unrealistic shows, CSI, NCIS, or any other crime/drama/medical show. The Walking Dead is a great break from the ****ty main stream productions that are out there, which have been degrading TV and their viewers' IQ since they began years ago.

AMC has recently produces some great quality shows, Breaking Bad, Mad Men and now Walking Dead. There haven't been shows as good as those put on by AMC in a long, long time.

Anyway, the show is great and I wish there were more than just 2 episodes left in the season. The ending of episode 4 was intense, and I like the way it just happened out of nowhere. I can now see how the episode slowly built up to it, letting you feel sort of complacent, then bam.

Btw, I don't get why people are hating on Glen (the asian kid). I really don't.
