I watched the latest episode today. Now that i think of it, we actually haven't seen anyone who got bitten or scratched turn into a walker. Like pointed out earlier in the thread, Shane used a knife to first stab a walker and later, with that same knife, cut himself.

Also the two guys in the bar not turning into walker's; I went back and checked that episode. Rick shoots the first guy straight in to the head, turns around and shoot's 2 chest shots to the fat guy, and 1 additional shot, which is off camera, then the episode ends. Next episode starts; the fat guy is lying on the floor dead, bleeding from chest, and also clearly from the head area.

EDIT: Now that i thought about it more, that blonde chick's sister turned into a walker from bite.

heh it does seem to be a bit confusing and from a viewer's perspective, quite conflicting but I think what we are missing, is time-line as far as the show goes.

It definitely seems now that any dead body that has not had damage to the brain, will return and that is also now apparent to the characters.
I think before, they just assumed that the only thing that brought people back were bites or scratches, as they never really had people die due to the hand of another person, as they were trying to save everyone they met and banding together or too busy running away to stop to see if they came back or not.

Whereas now, they are starting to see that other people are also the enemy and ending up in situations that they never experience before due to having a (safe?) haven and time to stop and watch what happens.

meh. I do not believe the virus became airborne and randomly infected those two security guards, shane, and randall but not everybody else.

Im starting to think theyre ALL infected and have been infected sense the outbreak. How they got infected in the first place I have no idea.

But I believe the virus just lays dormant untill the infected person dies...then in death the virus takes over the brain and turns people into walkers (you saw shane have those wierd-primal walker "flashbacks" when he died last night)

Just like that CDC worker at the CDC center explained and showed what happened to his wife in season 1. He showed that image of his wife dying, brain function ceases...then after awhile the brain activity perks up because of the virus and she turned into a walker. He never said if she got bit or not.

Keep in mind we havent seen a single person get bit and actually turn into a walker from the bite. What we all assume is thats what happens, but shane randall and those two security guards didnt die from bites.

This would make sense, because if theyre ALL infected... the group really IS the walking DEAD...and theyre ALL going to turn into walkers when they die...unless theyre shot or stabbed in the head.

I think next season theyre going to realize this and its totally going to mindf*ck them knowing theyre going to turn into walkers when they die unless theyre shot or stabbed in the head.

Called it. :D

Hooded chick with armless pet zombies on a chain leashes? and a PRISON!?

BADASS.

*Just watched the talking dead...found out the hooded chick is black...now the black guy has a shot at some poon now lol

Im just gonna throw some thoughts out there. A) The prison is totally overun by zombies. B) The prison is empty and they stay there, using it as a fortification and C) When they get to the prison theyre going to come across prison guards that are alive...that probably had to kill all of the infected inmates...but the group is going to stay there for safety.

Im guessing the most likely will be C.

Totally bummed about not being able to watch this show untill.....? who knows when? :(

What happened to the two guys Rick shot in the bar?

They didn't turn into walkers.

Opinions?

Rick shot the first guy in the head. Im pretty sure he double tapped the second (fat) guy.

They wont turn into walkers if theyre shot or stabbed in the head. Any other forms of dying (like being stabbed in the chest, hit by a truck, shot in the chest, eaten alive by zombies, broken neck) turns you into a walker.

Im pretty sure dale wouldve turned into a walker after dying from having his guts ripped out if they hadnt shot him in the head.

Really good episode, lots of action. Curious to see what happens next season.

Still highly annoyed at Carl, can't help but think the lives they would save if he would just listen, people wouldn't die looking for him, he wouldn't lead walkers to the farm by the weapons fire, etc etc. But then I imagine this follows the original storyline somewhat and I am unfamiliar with that.

I don't get why the **** it matters that everyone is infected.
Simple shortsighted answer - aim for the head even when killing other humans.

But if you think about it a bit more, figuring out how the virus spreads can be helpful in understanding it, discovering its origins and maybe even curing it.

Shane (in my opinion) has done the worst thing so far, by telling her, Rick was dead when he wasn't. Even though "WE" know that he had no hope in hell of getting Rick out of the hospital.
Rick did some equally (less in my opinion) bad things, like kill Shane and not tell the group that they were infected.
In all, they had their reasons but these aren't obvious to Lori, only the viewer.

Also, think about how both men have treated her....

Shane has protected her 100% from the start, and trust me, if it was happening here and it came down to sacrificing any of my friends or neighbours to save my wife and kids, I would do it in a heartbeat.
Trust me, this goes a long way with women :)

Rick however, since he got back, what has he done? buggered off at every single opportunity, not just putting himself at risk but also not caring what happens to his wife and son whilst he is away for simple things like using what ammo he has left, to get a little bit more ammo, just to give it away? what the hell is up with that?

As a viewer, I didn't like Shane but it has to be said, he was a better man and was the only realistic person out of the bunch, who had his feet firmly on the ground and new what was important and what wasn't.

The writers did a good job of getting it across that Lori also had the same opinion

If ever the world turned into sh!t and became overan by zombies. You would be a Shane. Braindead.
