Sept 4 Beta Update- Server Issue

This [url]http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112556[/URL] application may be of use to people. It makes 32-bit .EXE's large address aware.

Point the program to your RO2 .EXE. I enabled it for RO2 - used to crash on Barracks within 10mins of play now no crashes at all. I also lowered my Shadows settings from Ultra to High.

Good idea - and I remember doing this with Arma 2 before the devs made it large address aware.

But... do we know how VAC will view this?

RO2 is already LAA, no point in fiddling with the settings yourself.

Any info on how to stop these CTD's?

RO2 ran fine before the patch, now I get a CTD every couple of minutes.

I get a slightly different issue, servers show up but they dont shot how many players (show 0/32 for example) and no ping but i get server names ect.

Was perfectly fine before the update, if you check the bug report I'm definatly not the only one with this problem, and its not grpahics card or CPU related. Seems to be something to do with sound and/or too much going on in a game (exsplosions etc)

Not sure mate maybe a fresh install and verify of game files ?

Well I can get on and play on some servers, havent crashed so far. But they are all listed as empty and use the old map names, so it's like a lucky dip atm haha

When I try and connect via IP, it does the loading screen as normal but has "PAUSED" in blue in the middle of the screen for some reason, and then it quits back to the empty Server Browser saying "Connection to host lost" (or something along those lines.

Anyone else getting this "PAUSED" thing?

This happens when you mistype the ip address.

To use an ip as an example, say it's like 23.19.120.10:7777 (this is an actual 64 players territory server btw)

I typed in 23.19.120.10.7777, which gave me the unending pause error. Don't mistaken ":" for "."!!!!!!!!

PRO TIP: Might wanna add where the location of your server is? No point joining a server with 3000000 ping

Joining some random server (via console), where i don't know the ping, player count and map/mode it's using is NO solution. Fixing the server-browser to show us usable servers needs to be top priority.

I don't get why it's so difficult to get this integral (the server browser), but (imo) rather easy, part right. Bad company 2, Brink and now Red Orchestra 2 all had problems there.

P.S.: You can hire me as a product owner for the server browser, if you need help there.
