I think it would be cool (quite litterally) if we could see clouds of mist from players breathing. 
Especially when they have been sprinting a lot.

Yes, good idea. Sniper could see your camping position because of careless breathing.
Though you can only really see alot off mist when its around -15 celsius or colder in my experience.
or 6 months out of a year if you live in the UK apparently.

I'm pretty sure you have something wrong with your lungs
You can easily see breaths around freezing point.
Are you suggesting to see this from first person? Most get enough lag from the occasional smoke grenade I'm just worried that having it every few seconds would decrease performance.
