Well, the guys at Pixologic made a FREE DIGITAL SCULPTING PROGRAM called Sculptris.

excellent program, easy to use and you can make some really nice stuff with it, highly reccomended

Just to clarify, Pixologic bought Sculptris from the guy who developed it and brought him into their team. Great software, especially for the price. Pretty much the only free sculpting app out there worthwhile IMO.
