I'm thankful for what Poosh has done for the community, and for all the work that he has done on ScrN, but I hardly feel like it is as amazing as everyone says it is. Most of the changes made either don't affect me or buff my loadouts even more. For example, you said that Skell is mad because he can't dominate as a Sharp on ScrN. On the contrary, you essentially buffed my standard loadout (M14 + Handguns) making it even easier to hold my own and killwhore. I didn't see the need to buff Commando's reload bonus either (M32 reloads so fast), but that is beside the point. I have faith that this EA will give us the balance that no everyone will like, but will be best for the game, and hope that balance betas can become a thing every year or so, just to keep things in check that may be added.

you guys are missing the whole point of this mod . Being capable of changing stuff to the way a private server wants.... not the way Tripwire intended.

You say it will need balancing, but hope it won't. Woah man, you sure put a lot of faith into the developers.
Dude of course the game will need balancing. Poosh never said wether the balancing will be done by the developers during the game creation or if said balancing won't be enough and other people (i.e. modders from the community) will do it.
And what Poosh really wrote - as opposed to what you state he wrote - is, that KF2 will require a lot of balance work. And that is ALL. Nobody implied that the balance work will have to be done mainly AFTER the game is finally released but you and some other guys that understood this thread wrong.

Personally if I were in your shoes I would name it "Alternate game balance" or something. I doubt anyone is more capable of balancing the game than another person, everyone has their own preferences and agendas.

you guys really need to back off of Poosh. What started off as a lighthearted post has turned into something uglier.

If poosh is willing to take up the reins again and offer us a framework to help balance/rebalance the game system to work with "unofficial" modded content and base content for private server purposes, I'm all for it. My server would have died in the water if it wasn't for the combination of ScrN Balance and ServerPerks with all the content that I had available to my players.

@Poosh --> Whenever you decide that the time has arrived when the GB2 project needs to start, I will gladly help you test and troubleshoot the mut.

Good idea and good luck! I don't think it's a insult for Tripwire guys. Maybe Poosh or other people have very good ideas and they could be in final version of KF2. Why not? Why is it a insult?

It's hard to not play on my badass server with scrnbalance even with kf2 out, but when I play kf2, here's what I miss the most (what I wish ScrnBalance II will provide):


  • XP dissociated from perk bonuses (of course)
  • Speedometer
  • Cooking grenades
  • Damage popup
  • The bSpawn0 effect of dropping all weapons on death
  • TSC, Zedmanager :IS2:
Nice things that required other mods but I guess could be built-in:



  • A proper mapvoting menu
  • Server ads


If I may suggest, since the first iteration of Scrnbalance turned out to be much more than just game re-balancing, I feel the name itself made it subject to a lot of ignorant whining, and although it was shipped with an exemplary balance, lots of admin just threw it out the window providing users a totally unbalanced experience with still the Scrnbalance name tacked on.


TLDR: not having "Balance" in the name would make it clear that it is optional: a tool to balance that just happens to ship with a finely tuned balance.

I won't start working on this until final release of KF2. I just don't want to waste my life on doing useless job that will be broken by next patches anyway.

But I might consider creating separate mutators for some functionality like show speed and damages, mvoting etc.

TSC for KF2 is my #1 priority. It is a great mod. It is sad that TSC was released too late for KF1 and didn't got popularity.

I'm more interested in all of the Zeds who were associated with Scrn making a return rather than the total balance.

The ones like Shiver, Shafter, (Goreshank seems to be something TW is adding as a new Zed soon), Bastard, Brute especially, Sick, etc.
