So balance is personal? I can agree to that. As long as folk don't scream that chinese food is the best food ever made. :D

But who sound sillier: Chinese people saying their food is the best or some folks blaming Chinese food without even trying it?

One is the consequence of the other you could say. You scare people off if you don't eat the pie imo.

And you forget that most tried it and simply do not agree with you on the balance issue. Each their own of course. Win some, lose some. :)

It gets to a point where it's less about balance and starts becoming more about entirely different game design. Both may be balanced but the mechanics and things work differently.

This is one of the best things about TWI, their dedication to the modding community and player choice, give the power to the people and they can make the game whatever they like. Sometimes it's balanced and sometimes it's not, but who cares if they aren't affecting others' play experiences and everyone is having fun.

Who has more experience when it comes to game balancing? The game developers who actually built the game from scratch, or you, a forumite with a massive inferiority complex? Better yet, whose vision of balance is more correct? Who decides what is balanced?

OMG I haven't participated in any debates on forums for a long time and already forgot how annoying the community can be :)

Here is a list of things that I did not said:
  • I did not said that I'm already working on mutator for KF2. It just is not possible before the release of SDK.
  • I did not said that I'll start making balance mutator from day 1 of KF2 release. I want to enjoy playing first.
  • I did not said that I'll be working on it during the Early Access.
  • I did not said that default game balance in KF2 will certainly suck. And I'm hoping it won't.
  • It wasn't me who said that Tripwire is bad in balancing. It is a global community opinion on things that happened to KF1 since year 2012. But as we have found out now, TWI were already working on KF2 back then. It still is their fault for letting game's balance become broken, but probably they are not the ones who did broke that.

And here is a list of things that I said:
  • KF2 will require a lot of balance work. (Not a single word about who'll make it or who's good or bad in it).
  • I have experience with UDK and I'm up to KF2 modding.
  • It is the first announced mod for KF2. (Yes, I know that modesty is not my strong side :p ).
  • ScrN Balance mod for KF1 is almost perfectly balanced. Because it provides niche for every perk (including additional one - Gunslinger) and almost every weapon in the game. Bullpup, M4, M4-203, Combat Shotgun, .44 Magnum, Chainsaw and even Dual-9mm - all of these have their niches in the game and all are useful for certain situations/waves/loadouts/etc. You are welcome to prove me wrong: I am always open to constructive critics. But all I've heard before is that ScrN Balance is bad because theoretically it can't be good or because somebody likes or dislikes Chinese food...

People have different tastes of 'balance.'

On-top of all that, how do you know for certain KF2 will need balancing? You KNOW it will? That doesn't sound too nice.

ScrN Balance was fun in the first game, I'm sure it will be fun in this one too.

On a completely separate note however, people seem to be getting way too serious on this thread.

A mod is a mod. It is completely optional. I could go create a mod that makes the game beatable in a single click, but do you have to use it? No. Never ever.

So why are there so many people here jumping poosh's case? It is his mod, and if he wants to make another ScrN Balance for KF2, then he can.

Cmon guys, its logical to assume that TWI won't focus a large amount of time into keeping things very well balanced. Especially because balance isn't a huge focus of a lot of COOP games.

I bet they will come close, but I doubt they will have it perfect. Let this man do what he wants, it will probably benefit us all.

He might be more down to earth and listen to the community more. He will most likely also be able to update the mutator a lot faster than TWI releases updates. TWI is known to group changes together and create larger updates, so people dont have to download a lot + other reasons. And finally, he is focusing on not only balancing the game to acceptable levels, but fine tuning it to be virtually perfect.

Just my two cents.
