Nah it was a siege and I send my reinforcements to relief the siege.

Won the Italian campaign by buying me military access through Venetian territory sending an army to Klagenfurt (the lazy Napoleon was "wounded" and at home :p) wining a few battles with massive artillery power and that was it, finished in August 1797 what took Napoleon so long?

In Medieval 2 you could ambush on the campaign map too, and it let you deploy your men on both sides of an enemy that was forced into a column formation.... so that's nothing new in Empire.

What's my point again?

For Napoleon is defiantly the AddOn, it has some nice new graphical features like more smoke from the weapons and dust from marching troops, the arty is more dangerous (because of range and accuracy). But the unit variety is much bigger in Empire. There are only normal guns (horse arty 6 and 8-pounder), howitzers, rockets (only a few nations have these). They took organ guns and 64-Iber guns out (didn't the Ottomans have these anymore in the early 19th century?).

Only finished the Italian campaign so far but I think it would be nice if there was a ahistorical capture the world as Napoleon campaign but well I can play Empire for that I guess. Napoleon is more the replay history type of game.

Had a crash already. Performance is good but the loading times are a bit long sometimes.

Empire is the bigger package.

Overall I’m very pleased with the results, although technically it has been quite a struggle, in comparison to the first level this one is utterly huge, I broke the Source engine quite a few times in the process of building it to the level of detail you see here. Performance is also looking great, currently on par with the first level, and for those of you who are wondering, if you can run any OB/L4D game then you will most certainly be able to run this. Right now I can run it at 30-40fps, 1900

They have forest fires caused by the fighting in ARMA now? Wow, that's realistic! :p

@DraKon2k Its a new version he's working on, looks really good. I couldn't really be bothered with the first, the graphics were too outdated to go with the needed feel of the game but this one I will definitely play. Or buy if he sells it.

He's probably using the Fire and Smoke mod. Pretty cool but it can be a resourcehog since buildings, trees and everything in between catches fire when something blows up next to them.
Imagine a huge tankbattle in a wooded area and a massive fps drop once the first tanks are gone.

I've had that happen to me with ACE, so I don't think is the Fire and Smoke mod. I've heard it referred to as the "World on Fire" bug.

Yup, must be the "World on Fire" bug. I didn't get hurt by it and no matter how close I tried to get, the fire just appeared further. Not to mention it was everywhere.

Source is really looking aged now, but if there is a great game made with those graphics, I would not mind.
