Hai! I'm a lvl 4 medic.

I saw some folks stunlocking Scrakes with katanas and I thought "Hey I should try that!". It didn't go so well. :( From full armor and health I nearly got munched and half my team was going "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" so.... I need some advice.

How does one do that fancy scrake stunlock dealie? Attack the head? The body? Fast attack, slow attack? Thanks in advance for timely information.

Alt Attack (slow) to the head. But you should concentrate on healing. If you want to kill Scrakes, i recommend getting a Crossbow.

I always concentrate on healing but sometimes my team doesn't excatly concentrate on me. ^^; I sometimes get left with a chainsaw whealding puppy following me lovingly through the map. Or even worse, one jerk who goes "O noes! Scrake walking after a teammate! I shoot, derp!" And pumps in just enough buckshot to piss him off then decides he needs to reload. -_-

So I desire a personal defense weapon system to ensure my longevity as I ensure that of my team, which is why I inquire. Pub groups... FPs I can either armor tank (gallente xD) while my team hoses them down or just hide from em.

You need to use the katana and its primary attack and aim for the head, BUT you have to be the only one who is doing damage to the scrake, so if you have more teamates with you if the are shooting him while you are trying to stunlock IT WON'T WORK, so you could try and tell your team not to shoot the scrake but we all know that's not going to work, so save this tactic for when you are alone! cheers

There's also a kite lock where the scrake isn't stunned but can't attack you, when using primary fire or with a knife/machete. Aim for the head, and back up slowly every strike, he'll try to charge you but never be quite in range while you backpedal. Allows you to get away from Gorefasts and additional Scrakes outside of stun lock.

o_O Really? In my experience, no amount of backpedaling could stop a scrake from putting his chainsaw through me if he decided it was time to pwn some face. Does hitting him slow him down or something?

This.
It is always a joy to get a jab or 2 from that scrake you're slicing up as a level 6 berserker because some level 2 dip thinks he needs to "help" you by shooting it with a 9mm.

Hard to Xbow his face, when his face is in your face.

I'd bet I'm one of the better hipshooting "xbowers" in the game, but I almost never make a HS when a scrake is face to face.

About stunning, aim for the head. Once you get that down, you can trying keeping two scrakes stunned at the same time. Once you get that down, go for keeping two scrakes stunned at the same time while killing other specimens around them. Melee is by far my weakest perk and I can do that. A very good zerker can weave through specimens with very few hits.

I've got lvl 6 melee but I still can't get the timing down to hit a crawler when he jumps. I still get hit about 75% of the time.
