I got an invite for our clan, and applied. Haven't heard anything back yet.

This thread has had a lot of complaining about the team selection, but instead I'd like to ask why the particular process was chosen in favour of something perhaps a little more impartial?

This could also be considered complaining about team selection. What's done is done and I doubt you'll get an in depth explanation of the process and its justifications.

Hmm today when our last guy died (a slow death to be precise), both our reinfs drained. And NO, I did NOT press the spawn reinf button ^^. Another super serious bug when money is on the line. I hope you guys find a way to deal with it, or that TWI fixes that issue.

Well, i really hope that they fix some major bugs that can afflict the whole tournament. Wouldnt be fun/fair if someone just wins cause of the other team by any means deployed 2 reinforcements without pressing the button?

I don't think it's a good idea to hold it too soon there are still frequent and reproducible bugs with countdown that have not been fixed.

My clan got invitation few days ago and we currently registering and sending lineup.

I just have hopes that tournament won't start till TWI and PB release proper anti-cheat tools like cvar checking and demorec (!). http://www.esl.eu/pl/ started one cup w/o rules, cheat protection, anything so anyone can join, cheat or exploit and win.

Yea when money is on the line and it is possible to cheat, the risk of cheating ruining the competition is undesirably high =(.

The teams have now been picked, and are submitting teams. I don't know if I can post them here, or if those teams will be final (i.e. last minute change if a clan does not submit team correctly)

We will be making an announcement today on the final 32 clans etc..

We are aware that not everyone has been selected and this has led to some disappointment but we hope that should this tournament go forward in the future (as is the intention) then we can make more provision for more clans next time around.

It's not a matter of how many more clans you can accept. You selected pub teams over the most competitive and active teams.

I can understand your disappointment but can you tell me where we agreed to select only certain types of clans or where we guaranteed any particular groups entry?

This tournament was always intended to have a diverse amount of clans and a mix of both new and old to the RO franchise.

No, I can't. That is because you used a secretive selection process and didn't tell anything to anybody. The selection speaks for itself.

I think they have done their best picking the teams for the Tournament, just because my team didn't get picked I won't whine about it. Feels like some of you out there thought you were guaranteed a spot, even though the arrangers clearly stated it would be quite random...good luck to all the clans who was picked, especially the Europeans. Defend our honor and show the Yanks what we're made of!

Thanks for the heads up, but can we get figures how many clans actually applied from EU and NA? I know maybe 3-5 clans from NA clans and maybe less than 10 clans from EU by their clan names. That's bit weird.
