The game is actually very playable with high-ish ping (< 150). I live on USA east coast and used to play on EU servers all the time. It's fine as long as you don't play sharpshooter.
Now that I have some spending money for once I might host a server or two again if future updates brings life back to this game. There's still plenty of fun to be had!
