So the new album is out and yes I know power metal/metal/sabaton suck/sucks now go listen to Marduk or Hannah Montana and shut up.

PS: And before the word cheesy comes, show me one Metal band that isn't by your definition
Wow, that's quite a defensive attitude there.

Maybe that's why power metal/metal/sabaton suck/sucks?:p

I only gave the wehrmacht song a brief listen and thought what a bloody noise. But then i went to bed and couldn't get the bloody tune out of my head.
AAARRRGGGHHHH noes.

I'm afraid to me its just a noise as i dislike most modern Rock/Metal music. As it wasn't like that in my day:D.
But can someone explain why a modern group is still banging songs out about the Nazi's?.For gods sake guys sing about modern stuff.

Oh ok.I have never heard of them. But then i have never heard of most modern metal rock bands any way.Its just that we are talking 70 years after WWII finished so the Nazi's are not exactly a current subject are they.

but well, you talk about modern bands as if they were a single entity and they all had to do the same just because they are "new".

Sabaton has songs about WWI too which is obviously older than WWII.

Its also probably one of the few bands I like from 21st century.

Sabaton knows how to make a catchy tune, that's for sure.
I am still of the opinion they should make a song about the Frisians fighting off the Dutch at the battle of Warns, or Stavoren as some people refer to it.

Surely they could write a good song about fierce warriors following their retreating enemies into the very sea to slaughter them :p
And ofcourse the Frisian motto: leaver dea as slaef (rather dead than slave).

I can think of plenty of metal bands that aren't cheezy.

And yes Sabaton is very cheezy, though I still like to listen to them sometimes for their funny/cool war lyrics.

THIS is not cheezy (one of the greatest tech death songs of all time, maybe the greatest, the awesome melody+ ridiculously odd time signature will have you in rapture ;)):

YouTube - Gorguts - Nostalgia

(listen past the first few seconds, it's a bit hard on the ears at first... this is one of those "grow on you" bands)

Isis, if they qualify as metal, are also not cheezy:

YouTube - Isis - Panopticon - 1 - So Did We

So in conclusion, yes power metal is at the absolute bottom of the tower of metaldom.

Isis is good too, i personally prefer their first couple of ep's and panopticon.

Yes. Many DM bands I have tired of over the years, but Gorguts is just so fresh and interesting and creative. Amazing music.

They have a new song up, it sounds great as usual.

And yep Panopticon is definitely the best, along with Oceanic and their earlier material.
