I still keep getting the runtime error.

I validated my game caches. Uninstalled and Reinstalled twice.

I have a Radeon 9600 series vid card and Dx9.

Anything else I can do without destroying my computer?

If that doesn't work try the following:

change:

;RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice

RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice

;RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=PixoDrv.PixoRenderDevice"

See if that helps, tho it should already be set correctly !

well nothing can be worked on untill exactly its known what the problem is. A runtime error can mean everything.

Can you try following the tweak guide for your redorchestra.ini file it should be in the stickies i believe.

And upload the redorchestra.log (as attachment) after a crash occurs.

I'll do my best to try and get you running.

I havent really updated Dx9 because I really don't know what to update it with.

I just bought this game and it would not work once I got it.

If you run winxp 32 bit
this should be a link for the latest direct x

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en

when you installed the drivers did you clean the old drivers properly before installing the new ones aswell? I dont know what drivers are the best for the 9600 alot seem to keep using the 6.x series of drivers. instead of the current 7.X

(anyway i'm off to bed will check back in here tomorrow)

did you delete your system folder and verify the cache (aka manually removed the files instead of doing the steam uninstall function?)

I already verified my cache. I've done everything you and other people have said to do.

Thanks for your continuing effort Zetsumei, I gladly appreciate it.

You get the error at startup right? Can you make some give all the info you get on the error maybe a screenshot, does a log file get created in your redorchestra system folder?

Fixing problems just ain't easy, but i hope to get there.

did you try this as fiftyone suggested:
"Ok if you got a dx8 ish vidcard try the following:

to
;RenderDevice=D3D9Drv.D3D9RenderDevice
RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=Engine.NullRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice
;RenderDevice=PixoDrv.PixoRenderDevice"

I get the error right at start up. The loading screen with the german holding a gun shows up then this message shows:

roerror.jpg

I do not get any information from my RedOrchestra.log file. It is empty atm...

I do not have a Dx8 card, but I still tried those fixes.

I look up [WinDrv.WindowsClient], then I scroll down carefull, but I cannot find Bloom.

I did the other fix that he said to do, but still, those fixes don't work.

Remove RO, then remove, Steam. Then reinstall steam and reinstall RO. I know this is kinda brute force but it works.

Zetsumei suggested this in another thread:

If you have problems you can always try to delete the clientregistry.blob in your steam folder

It works for me.
