Ok so i was just rewatching some hos gameplay and thought, russians run with the gun in both hands so if for example a russian picks up a mp40 what will the 3rd person animation look like?

I hope they use both hand because otherwise they are likely to get TK'd since other russians will think its a german.

Next question follows how well can they manage their arms with bandaged hands.

Btw, reserving a new player name: OneBloodyStump :D

I say if the animated code for the Russians is 2 hands then no matter what weapon they've got (baring pistols of coarse;)) it will be 2 handed.

I'm pretty sure that the running animation is based on the character model (Russian/German), rather than the weapon.

Lol it wouldn't' make any sense if a Russian picked up a German weapon and suddenly started carrying it differently just because it's a German weapon.

I think it's easy to assume that soldiers are animated to carry weapons the same way, regardless of whether they are German or Russian.

Well if its done like in RO:Ost, they have animated skeleton and charachters are attached to that skeleton..so
animations are not like charachter based.

Pretty much what Susi said. There's a single set of animations and they're all linked to one character skeleton, not the weapons. To work out which sprint animation to use, it will very likely do a quick check on weapon pickup to see which team a player is and set the appropriate sprint animation accordingly.
