The only way LMG could be balanced is by having lower damage than assault rifles, but that wouldn't make much sense. Or maybe requiring something crazy like other player interaction to use/handle, a bipod, or ungodly uninteruptable reload time.

Mobility reduction and a small deploy period.

Kinda like hipfiring the MG34 in RO: Ostfront.

LMG's are typically balanced to have less accuracy at range, reduced accuracy while on the move, and a slower reload time.

Personally I feel they'd be a great addition.

Thinking about it, it sounds like it's going to just be Support Specialist with a lick of paint.

It'd be nice if LMG was a focused area denial perk.

The LMG in CS:GO is a pretty good example. If you just non stop fire it, you're not going to hit ANYTHING. The recoil is insane, and they've done a good job in KF2 of making recoil matter. So you wouldnt be able to just hold down the trigger.

It takes a LONG time to reload, which in KF is pretty crucial.

And yeah, I think it weighing you down is a pretty good downside to the death you're going to be laying down.
