Ok. I probably have something out of place on my client. I'll figure it out.

Yeah i'm glad it works on the servers. But a pity I just noticed I accidently moved a rock which could people get stuck. That passage worked well as cove. In previous versions.
Well it will be fixed in the next update. :D:D

Working on other things too.

Question

The Red Zone Of Death for Objective B extends all the way to the downed Japanese plane in front of Objective D, is it really intended to be that big? Or is that just the way that TWI has the defaults (or whatever) set up?

I ran like hell to get out of B when it as soon as it was captured to escape it, thought I was safe and stopped, then the pre-timer ran out a couple of seconds later and I found I was still in the zone and had to go quite a bit more distance. I just made out with 1 second to spare.

Serious question, not trying to bust you up about it since I know your position on it from other posts.

Moe, the mapper can create the size and shape of the spawnprotection.
I can take a look on how the shape is but to be honest I need to play it
online to experience this in practice. I play it offline but got bored as meanwhile
I need to test loads of other crap. I will take a look to this issue again.

So we have B and C they are lost and the delay starts. An Axis player has 40 seconds to
Fall back before the redscreen and another 18 seconds starts. As far as I know the
zone is halfway up the hill to the village.

I'm close to use such spawndistances that spawnprotection will be a thing of the past and players die of boredome as they had to walk for hours. ;-)

=================================================================

Update Moe, I did take a look and yeah it runs close to the airplane wreck. Like this image shows
The red line is the protection border.

For the nex release
I pulled it back more to the spawnarea. So there will be more time.
Like the next image shows

Yeah, I was curious.

Its a great map, no doubt, but we all know a lot of players hate that RSOD including me.

I hope you don't think I am harassing you on this, I would still love the map even as is :D

And since you put up the screens, that is about where I thought I would be safe after leaving B (second screen).

Ok. I got Bataan to load and run on Crucible. We didn't get to run it yesterday because some folks were encountering client load issues. I'm satisfied the map is ok, but I'm concerned about old data being retained in documents/my games/red orchestra. You'd be surprised how many people understand so little about cache and data conflicts there and what to do about it when it occurs.

As far a I know old data should not give any problems anymore.
Each cook/build should get a new Guid or something like that.

Did not hear other issues. Would be great if other serveradmins could
reply on this.

Are there people around who actually played the latest version of this map and other custom maps ?

Would be nice to know if the changes like more cover, spawndistance, reinforcements, nuclair weapons and naked tits worked out ?

Well, this version continues to be featured on Crucible, and has been featured at least twice on our OGG events. I've always enjoyed the map, and I've not heard any serious drawbacks pointed out. Wish I could say more at this point, but I've got new re-cooks and updates coming in at a rapid pace. But any new updates will be prioritized for events. There are so many updates right now that I may have to go to one play sessions during the two-hour period for awhile in order to get more recently improved maps exposed.

Same thing here with my map. I know the feeling dude. :( Hey, I guess ,No news is good news. I'm still waiting on the feedback from RS/TWI. That was the reason why i released the alpha in first place. BTW where are those naked tits you talkin about? Maybe that's why you're not getting any feedback, everyone is camping the boobies. :p

The weekend will offer players more time to check out the maps. The few times I have played these weeknights yours and Wolfy's maps have not come up in the rotation. I'm sure this is the case for many others :p

Yeah, giving all these maps fair exposure is something I work hard at, but it's an inexact science. When I'm not actually running an event all maps including many alphas are in the rotation list and up for vote. I struggle constantly with the notion of going to strict rotation. I'm not sure which way to go, but I'm open to mapper suggestions. When I'm running events, I try to feature three of the most recent updates until they get some degree of exposure. I've even been toying with the idea of doing strict four or five map clusters for 48 hours and then rotating groups. Any imaginative input is welcome.

:D

I'm not pointing to you, but more the overall interest in all custom maps and not only my map.
I only used this topic. Did not want to dig up one of the many "Play more custom map threads"
It's a the same story which have been here since the release of the SDK.

Enough on the subject now.
