I approve of the original list, as well as body collision.

Steam says I've clocked 183 hours of playtime in RO2, and at least 80 hrs in RO1, but that's far lower than actual since I played it when it was just a mod. Bottom line, I've played both and enjoyed both.

Tonight, for fun I reinstalled RO1 to compare how it felt to RO2 after not playing the first since RO2's release. It felt slower but more solid. I think that's important. RO2's twitch situation is its own type of fun, but speed, low recoil and fast everything gets tedious. I feel it in my gut while playing sometimes. It's tense without being exciting.

The fix is here though. I think a Realism Mode as described would put a lot of excitement back. I highly support it.

Lockdown - Removed
* Honestly I don't think this change is controversial in the slightest.
I don't think it is this black and white. Was reading a thread titled any updates on removing lockdown;

and there were lots of differences in opinion. I won't go into why I think it is good or why it may be bad these can be found through posts in the link, however I will say that if it is going to be changed i believe it could be tweaked in certain situations and not end if the timer has reached 0:00 and the attackers are in the middle of securing the objective.

I pretty much agree to the entire list.

Personally I really hate the zoom in its current implementation. But didn't really have issues with zoom in KillingFloor or the Arma series. I would really like if it would become possible to zoom in a way similar to the arma series, that just feels more intuitive to me. And having the zoom a bit lower from the current 2.25x to something like 1.8x would mean that the non zoomed fov doesn't become useless.

I do however think that its not realistic to ask for an option to detach the bayonet ingame, as that would require another set of animations and a completely new function that gun characteristics can change during a game. But it would be nice if in general people could select whether they spawn with or without a bayonet (together with for relaxed realism selecting what upgrades they spawn with).

Another thing I would like to see in the list, ability to die when getting loads of bullets to your feet. If your feet are peppered to the point that you cannot stand on it you should be completely combat ineffective even if you would survive in real life, in game this should result in death.

This improved list is indeed excellent!

Perhaps honor, class, and weapon progression can be allowed, though--with no stat boosts or unlocks, just the visual changes. This also allows players to still rank their weapons for less realistic gamemodes while playing on the highest realism setting, resulting in a wider playerbase and the attraction of more casual players to the more hardcore realism mode. The different models for more experienced soldiers are also just pretty cool in my opinion.

Addendum: Both pistols should be available to roles that have pistols. Otherwise, with no unlocks enabled, Russians are stuck with the Nagant revolver and no TT-33, and vice versa for the Germans.

Also add: Armor mechanics should be as historically accurate as possible. I defer to our revered tread-heads for further details!

I really like these ideas - I didn't have time to read all the posts so forgive me if it has been mentioned; but one thing I would like to see is shouldering weapons taking a much longer time, especially when people are sprinting.

It is annoying when a player can sprint in a door then stop immediately and shoot, even to kill a lower ranked player who ambushed them. I feel this is highly unrealistic and rewards run and gun style play at the expense of realism. It was much better set up in ROost.

When SMGs are unrested the irons should vibrate slightly; giving justification for the slight inaccuracy.

The wounding system I think is just unfinished. There is no way it was designed in such a way, and really the starting points (critical areas and bleeding) make logical sense and are good ideas. Everything else is just schizophrenic or just oddly implemented in a way that seems to defeat the point of having critical areas and bandaging.
