i damn hope it wont be RO3 or eastern front. Rising Storms pacific was a breath of fresh air and isnt touched on much by games because of its brutality on both sides. Hopefully the next game in the Ro2/RS series focuses on something like the Korean War or the italian front

As an European I prefer the eastern or western front myself. Not interested in Pacific. But Korean War sounds very good! Not many games have touched it, the equipment would be interesting, interesting landscapes, waves of men attacking... Do it!

The Western front has been done in literally every game ever, we don't need even more of it.

The Eastern Front is close second. Not as overdone, but still very common.

The Pacific is actually pretty rare, only games I can think of are RS, COD WaW, and Battlefield 1943.
I certainly wouldn't mind more of it.

Now, the Korean War has never been done in any FPS game. That's what we really need.

People say that the western front has been overdone but any titles they mention are 5+ years old or heroes and generals.

Still doesn't mean it hasn't been overdone :p Especially when you compare it to other fronts and the number of games made, IMO I think it's also the culture surrounding the WF, not just the games, this is true for at least Americans.

Riding the something unseen for an FPS- train:
-Franco-Prussian war 1870-71
-American Civil War
-Napoleonic Wars
-Korean War
-Boshin War
-Soviet invasion of Afghanistan

My guess why not are the inevitable old wars are unsuitable because lack of mass (which is 50-50) or too obscure, too x-centric, too unreliable firearms, unfun and whatnot.

Will they make all the vehicles available like they did in Ro1

Will they make all the vehicles available like they did in Ro1

Will they model all of the vehicles like they did in Ro1 instead of making 2 tanks in Ro2?. I would very much like to see fully modeled int4eriors and see the crew work inside the tanks and such

I far prefer having multiple vehicles with no interior modeling to having two vehicles with accurate (and useless) interiors.

Well according to the VME team the interiors werent difficuilt or time consuming to do. Ain't them that holds back vehicles.

Unless TWI goes in a new or depending how you look at it, old direction, and makes true CA a priority, I doubt you'll see much in the way of vehicles in a future RO. The current community doesn't really care about armor, the hardcore tankers are long gone. With mobile spawn points, (SoSL), you don't really need transports, so players don't value them as such and use them mainly as suicide cap rammers and MG platforms.

If they choose to keep the gameplay similar to what has proven successful, I don't see why they would spend a pile of money on a fleet of vehicles. I'd bet on a couple per side, like now, without interiors.

Multicrewing tanks was a good feature. Failed due to how broken Squad voice chat is.

Because RO2 ****ed the tanks up big time. Even RO1 had a better implementation.

Oh and some people do care about tanks. Even enough for admins to ban players from the server if they get into tanks before them. :D

Tanks have always been multi crewed in RO?

I know why they are gone, I'm just being pragmatic. The current community isn't clamoring for tank battles and tank maps, they seem to be happy with the game as it is. The best way to kill a server is to load a map with more than two tanks on it. Unless someone internally at TWI has an itch bring that back, it doesn't make sense for them to spend the money.

I'd like to see more vehicles, more armor and true CA maps and tank battles, I know I'm not alone, but we on the forums are the insignificant minority.

Yeah. All the dudes I play with loved the Combined Arms maps in RO1. I am mostly a tanker but not interested in pure tank vs tank warfare. CA is the way to go.
