I know this question has been posted before, but I must repeat it. When ever I launch RO2 from Steam and it loads with the RO2 picture in the background. At the task bar, I can see the RO2 icon. However, no matter how long I wait (I waited 3 hours) it will not finish loading. I tried to press the RO2 tab in hopes of bringing up the window. When I do, only a small section comes up, too small to see anything on screen. But now it reads RO2 (Not Responding).

While I don't have the best computer specs (Its a year old laptop), I can at least be able to enter the game long enough for me to turn down the settings. There are a few games (Black Ops) which allow me to enter the main menu but then freeze.

Please tell me what is wrong. I just spent last night re-installing it in hopes it would work. It didn't. I have tried many diffrent solutions around the web, but I am now forced to ask the Trip Wire Community: What the hell is going on here and how do I fix it? Please only post answers and solutions, do not state you have the exact same problem (Talking to the trolls here). Please help me, and thank you again.

Computer Specs:
CPU: AMD Athlon II Neo Processor K125 (1.7GHz)
Memory: 2 GB DDR3 Memory
Yes, its not the best specs, but I want to see if this game can even work. And I am not running out of disk space. I have plenty. Thanks again.

Some ideas,

- do you have the last chipset, sound and graphics drivers?

- did you look at the programs which works on the background.
(run, msconfig and run, services msc)

- did you delete the ro2 folder in my documents / my games ?

Did you tweak RO2 ?

Unfortunately, your laptop does not meet the min requirements to run the game and considering that you didn't post any video card specs im assuming the laptop dosent have one which means only the most basic games will work on it.

Minimum:
OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
Processor: Dual Core 2.3 GHz or better
RAM: 2 GB
Graphics card: 256 MB SM 3.0 DX9 Compliant NVIDIA

I do have a graphics card, I just forgot to include it (Stupid, I know).
Video Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225 (I have the required Video Ram, Pixel Shader version and Vertex Shader version)
In any case, I am aware of what I was getting into. I just wanted to see if my computer could run it. I am able to run Mass Effect 2 and New Vegas at good speeds so I figured I might give it a shot. While RO2 runs much differently and loads much differently, I still wanted to see. Thanks for the response though.

i'd love to be able to say i know how to make it work on that computer and that i know people with a cpu that far under minimum that have made it work, but i haven't seen them.

there's a post just above yours that described the same proble. there's a chance what they did will help get you to the video settings screen where you can turn all the settings to low.

if that doesn't work for you and you think it's the starting graphics settings keeping you out, you can change them in the config. but it won't be easy.
