Doesn't matter if you are 18 or not, you can be 50 and you'lle still get the cut version here in Germany.

Because, apparently German adults cannot handle video-game violence.

*epic facepalm for german government :) *

Oh come on now, it's pretty logical. Afterall, if people were shown graphic imagery, there might be a new nazi regime coming... Or maybe not, censorship always sucks whether it's for political reasons or because some, what we here in Finland call "Kukkahattut

Well speaking as a german I can only tell that there are maybe some memorials but the view of the population to that things that happened might be a bit different I guess. A lot of people choose to ignore those. Anyway this shall not turn into a political discussion.

There already is a new Nazi regime, the "neo nazis".

There are probably more neo-nazis in Russia, than in Germany. They're also not a regime with political representation, they're essentially hoodlums who stalk the streets at night in a drunken stupor looking to beat people up. Censorship has also never caused undesirable political groups to go away... you are right about history, for instance, people aren't taught that the Nazis were censored during the Weimar Republic, and were often arrested. It obviously didn't keep them underground.

partly because many Germans are NOT taught the horrors of what the Nazi party did. It is a sort of self denial, a lack of learning from history that could indeed lead to a new nazi party.

Tl:dr Censorship of history due to embarrassment can cause history to repeat.

The Germans if anything get the most hammered at school at the things that happened in ww2.

Amazed that our backwards regulators didn't force the issue of "dismemberment"

Australia is getting closer to getting a 18+ rating for Games, which means those games that run the risk of "No Rating" at least have a home in the higher rating.

Congrats Tripwire, and I apologise on behalf of our backwards country for the "worry" we caused you.

Can't wait till Australia change their classification system to allow R18 products as we get of getting lumped with Australia and getting cut or edited games and software over here. Most companies can't be arsed making a differant version for NZ.

By the way the only decent commercial beer over in Aussie is Crown Lager. Rather drink our own or the Euro stuff.
