RO2 SDK Update Released Last Week

Sorry but the announcement of this slipped under the radar. As part of the patch we released last Friday there was an update to the SDK. The main update was that now when you use PIE (Play In Editor) the game will no longer crash. So now you can actually run around your level and try it out. PIE still doesn't work perfect, but is more functional than before. We're still hard at work on the SDK and will keep you guys posted as we get more functionality in.

Are you still running on a limited number of keys for the SDK, Ramm? Any ETA on when it will open up? I was very excited to begin mapping for RO:II but alas, that was cruelly snatched from me. :p

is there any way i can remove the patch? at least before the patch, i could map ( making materials, importing mesh, building lighting..etc). now, noting! every time i try to do something it crashes. It's very frustrating!

We're working on sorting all of these issues. Now that we've hammered out most of the larger "shipping" issues with the game, we can put some time into the SDK. I don't have an ETA on when the full official SDK will be shipped yet. Our goal was to ship it day and date with the game. Unfortunately we discovered a lot of issues with the SDK and the cooked (final release) content. The SDK we gave mod teams like Rising Storm worked with our Dev content only. So now we have to get the shipping SDK working with the shipping content, which has proven to be a much greater challenge than we anticipated. All previous versions of the Unreal engine the SDK pretty much just "worked out of the box". So we're a bit surprised that this one does not.

RJ, Any chance you guys can roll back the (PIE) patch? pretty please :)

At least before patch I had no problems mapping.

This way i can stay busy too ;)

Come on guys, not asking for much here. I know you guys are really busy trying to get the Full SDK out to us, and i appreciate that.....really do.

All i'm asking is........Please, just roll back the "PIE" patch, that way we have something to do till then. Please! :D Thank You!
