RO2 Release Date delayed 2 weeks to 13 Sep 2011

meh, I'm fine with the 2 week delay (if the devs need it, then so be it...Don't dog on them for waiting 2 more weeks for the game to release)...heck, Stronghold 3 was suppose to come out in June, and the devs said it's not coming out until September...So I'm use to waiting longer for games. lol

Almost this entire thread is full of the results of society breeding the "entitlement generation" and it needs to stop.

1. How many of you have ever even been in a "real" beta. I mean when the game isn't even FUN yet. A real beta is painful to play because that's the point of a "beta". What we deluxe pre-orders are getting is really a "taste" of the final because we've given the company money early. THAT WILL STILL HAPPEN.

2. I'm also not saying that we should cut TWI some slack. TWI cannot ever be compared to EA/DICE, UBI, Activision or the like so I don't need to cut TWI any slack, it's just FACT that they don't have the resources of those other studios and cannot/will not perform in their PR or Marketing the way those studios can/do. I'm saying you people need to look at your own behaviour in this thread.


Abridged version:
We deluxe pre-orders were promised early access to the game (beta), we are still getting that.
We cannot compare TWI's PR/Marketing to that of EA/DICE, UBI, Activision etc. That is fact.
When things don't go according to plan the only thing we have control over is OURSELVES, let's not forget to do that ok?

P.S. - pushing it back could be a blessing in disguise. Releasing it closer to BF3 (and not giving people the opportunity to play the full game for a month before the BF3 release) might actually help cement how much more you do get from a dev like TWI as opposed to EA/DICE. This generation tends to pick up a new FPS, play it every waking moment for a month (well not if it was EA/DICE's offering of MOH 2010) and then move on. Who knows......time will tell.

The stuff they have to polish is probably in the core of the engine, something you can't fix with a patch... oh well, rather have a polished game than a buggy one.

I've been playing RO for years, I rarely pre-order games, but I did in this case for the beta. I found out after my purchase that there's no set date for the beta to commence, but only that it would come before August 30th, and now I find out that the release date of the game has been pushed back. It made me question the wisdom of my pre-order. I've sent in a support ticket to cancel my pre-order, I figure I'll wait until a beta release date is set to determine whether the amount of beta time they give us is worth an extra $10.

I've actually played the BF3 alpha.... 3 months ahead of that game's release.... and for free.

No, what I meant to say is, I've had exclusive access, months in advance, to a much more highly anticipated game, which I haven't pre-ordered. No.

I didn't say that, I was saying it was unfair to call those wanting more information, or who were disappointed with this announcement to be the products of "entitlement generation", they have a right, especially after dishing out their dough, to further inquire about when the things that were promised to them, and which they've paid for, will be delivered. And they have a right to complain about the fact that they purchased the game under the impression and trust that September 30th would be the release date.
