I dont really care about all these bugs and stats problems, I mean sure they are annoying but I mean who cares, RO1 didnt have stats so why does it matter if the stats in RO2 dont work yet. Gameplay is Fantastic and I have no problems spending hours of my day hermitting away in my room killing mowing down russians. Im just tired of reading all of these negative threads about the game, like if you have this many problems about in game balancing and bugs go make your own game, its not that easy. This game was entirely worth the wait, I mean last night i was playing in a server that shall not be named (cant have you join it and take a spot away from me ;)) But my whole team had mic's and we were all working as a team and being tactical and moving up under cover of mg and tank fire and just destroyed the russians on fallen fighters (which i normaly lose as axis) It just gave me such a sense of teamwork and enjoyment being part of a team playing a realistic game and what not.

Also to all those saying its un balanaced, yeah some guns are but I mean TWI cant put in imaginary guns or guns not used in that time period just to make it balanced. Im sure in real life you wouldnt hear germans saying stuff like

"Hey thats no fair his PPSH has 71 bullets and shoots faster than our our mp40, and WHOA hold your HORSES our MP40 only has 32 bullets. HEY RUSSIA WTF IS THIS USE BOX MAGS AND ADD SOME RECOILD THIS ISNT FAIR."

Or a russian saying

"Wow that mg34 has way less recoil and moer ammo then our DP28, HEY GERMANY KNOCK IT OFF THAT ISNT FAIR."

No war isnt fair, and some sides are going to have better weapons. Thats life, nobody said war was balanced. Anyways thats my rant, my figurative hat is off to TWI for an amazing game that is sure to take a dent out of my social life. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK TWI!!!!!!!!

problem for me is that eventually both sides will have access to all weapons.
Removing the whole diversity which is if you ask me kinda lame :/

Yes I agree that RO2 is fantastic now and has foundations in place to become even better. There were a few bumps in the road...but so what? Rome wasn't built in a day. Historically TWI have been fantastic for getting things done and giving great updates for free. I've got a great level of respect for them and fully understand that no body is perfect, things go wrong and we learn from them.

So TWI...despite you probably already doing this...don't sweat the negative talk. You've accomplished somthing great here and numerous past accomplishments to acompany it. I look forward to future updates and games from yourselves and continue to support you.

Kind regards,

Nemo.

TW, good job. The game is amazing, I haven't had this much fun playing with my friends on Mumble in a while. Everyone is enjoying it, and we're having a blast. Thanks for the good times.

On a side note, please bring back more bolt-action gameplay. The SMGs, Assault Rifles, and Semis are making this game a little more faced paced, and it would be cool to only have a few of them on a map!

Otherwise, great job.

I don't even understand this thread. It's a good game and all, but the logic of what I read: "TWI can't put in imaginary guns to balance the game" just assumed the guns are accurately modeled. If the game was perfect, that might make sense. It's not, so it doesn't. Also, nobody ever asked for imaginary guns. They've asked for less imaginary versions of real guns.

I don't care about stats either. But what I do care about is game breaking unlocks (like the annoying futuristic mp40/II and so many scoped mkb42s) that you cant get rid of! I hate fighting with a bayonet but I'll never be able to remove it. Its just things like that, combined with the performance (which is getting worse with each patch), and numerous bugs. Its just that this game is far from great, it should not of been released yet.

I could tell it was on its way to being a great game, but many of the choices that were made just makes the game not fun.

Even though I hope TWI does make the weapon upgrades removable, I find the stats to make the game quite more competitive and "addicting", if you can call it that, rewarding you for your combat preformance. Sure, some upgrades are a bit exagerated (I'm talking to you, scoped MKB) but they just reward you for you experience and don't really make the game more or less balanced IMO.

I mean, for example, the dual mag MP40. I don't really like to see it that way either. But if the only assault weapon to have the drum upgrade was the PPSh, people would complain about balance. As both weapons have it, people complain about realism.

TWI did NOT balance this game. Weapons behave like they behave, period. Some people even complain about this, but things were as they were, and TWI tried to make things as real as possible without turning the game into a painfull simulation, making a very enjoyable game as realistic as they possible could without sacrificing the fun factor.

I mean, if you want real war, they might as well give you a gamebox with an enlistment flyer inside.

War is war. In real war, a "Hero" soldier wouldn't have 20% less recoil, or 20% less reload speed. He would have an extreme combat experience, he would be 200% more accurate than anyone else, and would probably be pretty much what we now call a "hacker", otherwise he wouldn't be a hero (there are several of men like these, with badass war stories, there was even a theard about them yesterday).

It's true that TWI made some choises that might piss some people off, but no one can find the game perfect. They did, however, create an extremely fun game without sacrificing the realism that RO is so well-known for, and added some neat features that reward the player according to his experience (stats, unlocks) but managed to, at the same time, keep the game balanced and not overpower anyone (not even heroes. They are more powerful, but not too powerful).

While this might seem as something small, is actually quite an achievement and a very hard one to create in practical terms.

This is exactly what twi did though. ;) The starter version of ppsh-41 is an imaginary gun with box mag which was rarely used and without single shot capability, which is in fact a lvl 50 unlock (do I need to mention that single shot was a normal feature on a real ppsh?). The motivation for this is "we have found out in early testing that drum ppsh owned the world".

^ yeap.. while the MG34 only gets more powerful with all the upgrades, while the DP-28 gets no upgrades and is inferior to a "stock" MG-34.

Logic? none.

Has it been worth it to you?

Has it been worth it to you?

Having read I don't know how many posts complaining about a multitude of bugs and quirks and historical inaccuracies, etc., I have come to a personal conclusion about RO:HOS based on the thirty or so hours I've spent playing it over the last two weeks: this has been one of the two best MP games I have bought (the other being iracing, but that's not important here;)).

I purchased the DDE version, and why not? For a few bucks more, I got to play the beta for a while. I didn't really care about early unlocks or any of that extra stuff. I just wanted to play the game. I still do. I think TWI have created a beautiful game, and a worthy successor to RO:O, which I enjoyed as well. Have I gotten my money's worth? At little more than a dollar per hour's worth of entertainment (so far!), I have to say, "Hell yeah!" And the game will only get better with optimization, custom maps from the community, and mods, such as Rising Storm and Iron Europe. It's been money well spent.

Thank you Tripwire, for your hard work, for pursuing your dream, and allowing me to be a part of it.

And for all those who have expressed anger, outrage and indignation over the game being something other than what they wanted it to be: please try to be calm. All that angst is not good for one's blood pressure. It's just a video game, after all. And don't forget to take your medication (for your blood pressure, that is!).

Cheers to all. Enjoy the game for what it is, as well as what it will be. See you on the battlefield.

AI is the worst I've ever seen. Don't release a game with single player in the preview/interview unless you plan to put some work into it.
