4) If you are using Windows Server 2008 R2 (and only if you are using this version of Windows), the windows firewall program appears to have issues with the game that we are still trying to sort out. In the meantime, please disable windows firewall and use a different firewall program.

Could there be any more detail on what kind of issues there should appear with this? I'm just asking because I installed the server on our "Windows Web Server 2008 R2" with SP1, added rogame.exe into the exceptions and it seems to works just fine.. The server is called "FinTac @ Quakenet RO2 server" if you need to test it yourself. And yes, we are using only windows firewall.

Where do you set the admin loggin ? I found the admin password, but not the loggin.

Searching for UT3 webadmin stuff helps alot, but the default admin login name seems to be Player but you can change that by editing ROWebAdmin.ini and adding the following lines:

Code:
[WebAdmin.BasicWebAdminAuth]
RequireUsername=Admin

By doing that the login name will now be Admin. But like I mentioned earlier google for UT3 webadmin and you will find a lot of the stuff you need. At least until we get more detailed tutorials and/or manuals on how to do them in RO2 if there are specific things.

What about ingame admins? How can I setup these admins?

By using the adminpassword that is setup in ROGame.ini under section
Code:
[Engine.AccessControl]
AdminPassword=supersecretpass
any player can login as admin ingame by opening the console (check your keybindings for that) and typing either:
Code:
adminlogin supersecretpass
or
Code:
adminloginsilent supersecretpass

For admin commands while logged in check here: http://wiki.unrealadmin.org/FAQ:UT3#Admin_Commands

Is there any knowledge available about how much bandwidth is used per slot on the server? Especially for those people thinking about hosting a (smaller) server from a home connection vs renting at a gameserver provider?

Uhhhh where do I find HLDS?

GOogled, found nothing where to download.
Checked in steam under Tools, found nothing.

Installed HL Dedicated Server, ran it, no RO in the list.
Same thing with the source one.

Now, where to download the software "HLDS" ?

http://storefront.steampowered.com/download/hldsupdatetool.exe

Then to get it to download RO2 you either make a shortcut to hlds or use the command promt. The flags you want are;
-command update -game redorchestra2beta -dir \somewhere

Can I ask you guys a question...

Are the ports classified as TCP or UDP? (Referring to the defaults 7777 and 27015)

I think (and I may be wrong) 27015 is tcp and 7777 is udp. However I would be interested to hear an experts view.

Im running one of our servers using NAT and im having a few problems with it failing. Are tehre any other ports that need redirecting and opening on the firewall please?

banner issues

banner issues

Is there a correct format, file size, or any other criteria for adding a banner to the welcome screen? I on the admin panel it shows the banner to be correct, but does not show on the servers welcome screen, I have been playing around with it and I cannot figure it out. Any help would be useful.

-I have tried changing from .JPG to .PNG
-I have tried changing the location of the file to a different host

Can anyone help me with getting the banner to show up on the welcome screen? I have been trying to figure it out but I can't seem to get it right. I have tried changing hosting location, and I have tried changing the file from .JPG to .PNG . The only thing I haven't tried to do is to change the file size, but if that is the problem can anyone give me a basic dimension/size that should work, or any other suggestions,

I had some problems with this as well at first. The web interface will still show images that wont work ingame, which is a bit misleading.
Having it as a PNG works fine, but I think the max height of the image is 180px. I have it at 179px just to be safe. Don't know about width, but if there's a limit it's pretty high.

Worst guide in the world.
Don't think so, because with the help of the guide and some educated guesses (the guide refers to the beta) I managed to set up my LAN server for single play training with bots in exactly the time it took to download HLDS, the game stuff via HLDS and then edit the necessary files. A little rtfm though.

Maybe this guide does not work for absolute admin newbies, but I consider myself as such newbie. ;)
