RO2 RO2 balance - double standarts.

Why not is the same bull **** we all want changes. But how and why we can do it is unclear. Its the same old story, we make a thread, discuss it, burry the hatchet and then start over again. We should do something more productive. I don't know, get help from some real weapon manufacturers that produced and know of such weapons and seek specialist advice?

Why not is the same bull **** we all want changes.

I dont want any changes to ro2. I wanted them to include forceloadmods line in config file untill just recently.. now i dont want for a reason i cant say yet.

This thread isnt even idea or suggestion, its more like a statement. It was posted in general discussion first, then moved to ideas and suggestions for some reason i dont know.

But how and why we can do it is unclear.

You are the only person here who doesnt know how and why.

ts the same old story, we make a thread, discuss it, burry the hatchet and then start over again.

No its totally not. Times you just described have passed long time ago, you are the only one doing that now. Again, my thread is not idea or suggestion, its a statement, discussion, and it was posted in general discussion.

We should do something more productive.

Who we? I am already doing, tremozl, dibbler, beskar, joe and others are doing..

I don't know, get help from some real weapon manufacturers that produced and know of such weapons and seek specialist advice?

How would specialist or weapon manufacturer help you changing the game?
Installing SDK/3dsmax/blender/photoshop/gimp and starting learning it would help changing the game a lot better.

Yeah just look into the IOM mod thread aaz was whining for ages, that twi doesnt promote the mod on purpose because it changes their game too much in the end noone of the team asked TWI thats all.Did you ask if they could add the line into the config at all?If not then that would be really shameful.

1) point where i was "whining for ages" that TWI doesnt promote our mod on purpose.

2) Proof that no one of the team asked TWI for the line into config or promotion.

You make some good points AAZ.
RO2 is a classic example of a game that tried to be two different things and ended up being a failure at both. They could have went with unrealistic weapons but if you're not following history then there's no excuse for weapon imbalance, each team needs to get their fair share of good weapons.

On the other hand they could have went with historical accuracy but that was also clearly a failure just comparing how the guns act to their real life counterparts and things like the MKB, PZB, etc and how each team gets like 20 automatic weapons.

It's a shame because even despite all of this RO2 is still one of the best FPS on the market. Really says a lot about the poor state of the industry. I hope 1.15 of IOM gets here soon since it fixes most of the problems.

IMO has kicked the game up to a more historical accurate fight. If i ever have time i usually play workshop with IMO. The sound, weapons and atmosphere immerses the player into the game. I really enjoy playing IMO on the map yakovlevo.(Kind of gives you an concept of how expansive the front during the war was.) AAz, you make some good points. I remember reading the forums during the years of first release and seeing the issues you guys say. I per-ordered and been here since release. My big issues was the compact maps, ballistic issues with cartridges/weapons and the unlock system. I liked how R01 was just made to be played no need to grind servers for unlocks.

Did you guys add the accurate ballistics for the 7.92x57mm JS?

IMO
sorry i have not made it to the events on Tuesdays but university is in full swing due to end of semester work that i have to take care of. I do intend to try to make these events if I can in the future. Thanks for the awesome game-play. Looking forward the full release of IMO 1.15:D

Sorry, but historical accuracy, authenticity and realism was abandoned and replaced with accessibility. Most of this have been discussed since day one.
Everyone in TWI knows this and everyone on this boards knows it.

But unfortunately it wont change anything in RO2. I gave up waiting for a miracle to happen with the game since a long time ago. It's been four years since the release of the game. I am waiting for the next RO, and if it goes back to the roots, superior RO OST, I buy it, if not, i'm completely done. Don't listen to junior members like The Wulf because its waste of time to discuss or listen to people who want the game to be accessible and sluggish.

Personally I think the weapons the teams have are quite low on "what makes the game balanced".

The 1st most important thing is The skill of the individual. Yes the skill of each player is the largest contributing factor as to what the outcome of the battle is. The skill of every single player.

The next is the ability for the team to work together. Which of course is directly influenced by the players skill. A coordinated team has the edge of a non coordinated team.

Map balance also plays a rather large part. The ways the maps are layed out and balanced. Perfect map balance means of two even teams play against each other the game will end up in overtime on the last objective.

Then comes the weapons and roles. And quite a step down from map balance. Even the MG42 doesn't win games. It's the guy who pulls the trigger who influences that.

You're right on all of this, though I'd swap one and two.
I'd say though it's harder to rank them.
PS. I'm debating whether or not to add that to my signature.
All the asinine complaints over the "uber" mg.

AAZ makes very good points.

I like particularly how every Russian gun was nerfed at their expense. When the Axis get specific weapons which are buffed to balance them with Russian counterparts. When the Axis get uber guns (which break the game) like the mkb42 and MG42 they are not available to the Allies. Whereas the PPSH is.

Something needs to be done. What I see is people quitting the game. Very rarely do I see Allies team win a campaign, let alone a map win.

It's killing the game. Please TWI, don't let the game be killed by imbalance.

It's due to team stacking. Not weapons. Look at the levels of the players. Who's on who's team.

Sure. I'm usually the first one to complain about Axis stacking and how it's killing the game.

However, my experience is that team stacking is a result of weapon (and map) stacking. Players want to play with the best and coolest guns (on easier maps). It's a chicken-and-egg problem. The team with the better weapons, gets experienced players, wins, or do they win because of the experienced players on that side?

There would be less stacking if:

1) MG42 was available to Allies heros.
2) PPSH was Allies-only and buffed, as OP suggested.

Want to bet against that?
