I just finished playing a bit of the battlefield 3 beta and... I'm really not impressed. I was expecting a very good game, and really too much Bad Company. I'm pretty disapointed. :(

I cant believe I am saying this prone makes attacking the park a fricking nightmare, the bushes are invincible and far to thick to crawl through but people can still do it... in BF3 bushes are OP...

played BF3 beta today and i was meh mostly, well the sound is still there but i haven't unlocked any guns yet that really have some power behind them like the BFBC2 thompson. My biggest complaint at the moment is the Destruction, yes in BFBC2 it was pretty over the top destruction with most maps ending in ruins, but it was still pretty bad *** blowing your way though objectives, maybe its just this BF3 map but this was missing alot. Also the explosions have no power behind them or real visual impact with the same BFBC2 delay with explosions giving it a really unnatural and off feeling you would think they would fix.

tho i will only get it for one thing and that is JETS and TANKS and HELI's yea its going to be sweet.

Just tried the BF3 beta.
Really disappointed. What happened to the amazing graphics from the videos?
Where are the 'sliding' soldiers, and amazing movement? RO2s ragdoll physics and soldier movement is way better then BF3.
The graphics lacks details and seemed toned downed; not to mention the colors - am I wearing funky colored sunglasses or someting?

Origin server browser...not impressed.

This is on a gtx580 - all maxed out. RO2 looks way better on my system.
Also quickly missing the lean and cover system. Almost amazed they have crouch AND prone...wow...
Disappointed. Another down-consolled game imho. At least that was the first impression...

Agreed

And the graphics are NOTHING like the "almighty" videos EA has been showing us....not even CLOSE.

Thats because not all graphic options and effects are enabled yet . Also wait till you've played caspian border its like a completely differant game. I haven't got to play it myself but the consensus says it actually feels like bf3 unlike operation metro which isinfantry only so yeah of course its gonna feel similar to bad company, but i liked bad company especially the rush mode I thought that was a brilliant idea for a multiplayer gametype.

Played BF3 Beta. Hugely disappointed...this Game will "kill" RO2? Ha ha ha.
Can't even sprint while crouched. And do not come with the Graphic's Argument. RO2 looks better and has much more Animations.
I am no Fanboy or something, i played EVERY damn BF Game and loved it. But BF3? It's ****, sorry. Too much Call of Duty and i simply can't play another Shooter which has not the same level of Movement Options as RO2.
I am really disappointed.

But what i really love is the Battlelog, that idea is amazing.

You can't kill something that is already dead. I really hate to admit it but there is too much going against RO2 (stats, bugs, performance, large community dissent on gameplay mechanics, alienation of RO1 fans with new gameplay elements, poor communication on TWIs part, stacked 2011 holiday game releases coming up, etc.) to seriously turn it around at this point.

The most going against RO2 are the players themselves. Too much
whiners. Did you make a game by yourself?? Do you know how difficult it is
to make such a nice game?? Was you spoiled in your yough?
And the most irritant thing of today is that the same whiners comes with
messages about bf3 how great it is. Why writing it hear?? Go and leave us
alone.

I enjoy myself everyday with this great game and it will be only greater.
With satisfied players. I something feel myself as Don Quixote fighting against windmills.

Yeah the "Beta" Thing...
Who here played more than 1 Battlefield Beta? If you did, you know that BETA is no Argument if Dice is involved.

Dice has all that money and tripwire did ten times the job dice did. RO2 is in a completely differant league.

BF3 = Cheap, quick elvis painting done on velvit, being sold in a parking lot in vegas.

RO2 = A painting done by a scruffy, friendly old artist who live in a shack on the beach and has dedicated his life to Art and painting beautifull sea scapes

I honestly couldn't put this in any better way. This analogy is absolutely astounding. Thanks for making my day with this post, seriously.

I tried the BF3 beta today and I must say the teamwork aspect of it works great. Would say that it feels at least as good as in RO1. Intended or not it felt as if your team members worked with you.

I think RO2 loses in that area where benefit from teamwork is a big step down from RO1.

I have just trie the BF3 Beta I am m very surprised about how "green" it looks... I mean, crashed several times, problems connecting to servers, akward movement... taking note of the size of the development team EA has it is simply bull****... That gets RO2 to a new level!!!

I loved RO1, still do, but RO2 just doesn't cut it. Accept that this is the opinion of most people who purchased this game. That's right, I payed for it so you will hear my ****ing opinion and I will state it whenever the **** I feel like doing so.

Here is my opinion: you're a whiny little girl who sucks at a realistic game and is now crying to mummy asking for her help. RO2 is by far closer to RO1 than anything else on the market, so you have the choice between RO2 and another game that is even less like RO1. Throwing a tantrum and leaving the game is only hurting YOU, not those of us that can actually play it.

So run along little girl. Go play an easier game like BF3.

Every time a gamer complains about the quality of a beta, an innocent kitten dies somewhere in the world.

As for BF3 i'm impressed. It has all the hallmarks of a strong, well designed shooter. Yes, amazing right? That their are other shooters out there that are good games.

So what if origin collects a little data, if that makes them better able to make games - that's fine with me. They are only taking data about hardware and some applications you use - no personal data, no spyware, and they aren't selling it.

Not like I have anything on my computer that I could get in trouble for...

You want to read a really scary EULA, try steams:

C. NO GUARANTEES.
VALVE DOES NOT GUARANTEE CONTINUOUS, ERROR-FREE, VIRUS-FREE OR SECURE OPERATION AND ACCESS TO STEAM, THE SOFTWARE, YOUR ACCOUNT AND/OR YOUR SUBSCRIPTIONS(S).
With all the money I have spent on games through steam, that's a scary statement....
