Thread after thread of well thought out, well written and fair criticisms of ROHoS...presented (it appears) mainly by experienced RO Ost players who know what they are talking about.

Maybe TWI is getting some of this, and hopefully putting it to good use.

If TWI were to cater to their existing RO/OF players, then the game would cater little for the potential new market.

Sad as it is, todays game NEED to have reward systems etc to payback the ever shortening attention span of our GenY's and iGen-ers.

If most of the well thought out posts were listened to, we would essentially have RO1, reskinned and with new maps. Thats not RO2.

Before i get flamed, i truely KNOW what you are asking for. I played RO since mod days. Ive been here since the start. I know RO2 isnt perfect for our RO/OF sensibilities, but it is what it is. TWI were brave enough, and astute enough to know that RO would work initially some 8 years back, give them credit for what they have produced now.

The SDK will ammend many of the hardcore players wishes, the current game needs to have a certain amount of other stuff in it to attract and hold new players.

For the record, I miss the old RO days.. when attaching a bayo would mess with your KAR accuracy, and u have to hot swap it on and off when u tried to cap. I miss that...

But im not gonna diss RO2. Im enjoying it. But, its not RO as i knew it. What it is, is a more mature, modern FPS set in a ww2 setting, that feels familiar, if not totally remeniscent of days of yore.

Your thread was well thought out and constructed, in other words, your thread is about to be deleted.

Same here, RO1 was my fps fix too, because it was different and realistic. Thanks to RO1 i became interested in similar realism games and ww2, but as many on these forums have said, RO2 is now exactly the game RO1 made me avoid.

3 quarters of the way there. poor unplayable optimization/ arcady game design choices.

So one must be an "experienced RO Ost player" to have a valid opinion about the direction of HoS?

I wonder what decision TWI will make after reading all these wise threads about RO2 issues. Do we need to wait for modders to fix the gameplay or TWI open their eyes and start adjusting it.

If TWI were to cater to their existing RO/OF players, then the game would cater little for the potential new market.

Which is precisely what the Relaxed-Realism (now called "Standard") mode was supposed to be for, catering to a new crowd, whilst the Realism mode was sold as beeing for us old RO farts.

That ofcourse has not happened, the two modes are identical, save for a few HUD elements, and the option to disable "pistols for all!" in realism.

The game is still a complete pile of ****! ive been playing since the beta and my card broke the day after the release, I just got it back up yesterday and after reading about the patches was hoping for a fixed game yet its still a buggy broken mess. server browser is still ****ed my performance is still a joke on a 570.

I lost my patience with tripwire hopefully the modders will do a better job.

The post is interesting, respectful and well written, bu I am getting tired about reading RO2 opinions everyday...
Can we please change the themes?

Mate, I don't want to piss you off, but it would be pretty simple to simply ignore those threads with feedback. Check out the other themes of which you can find plenty of on the forums.

Without feedbacks that go beyond "I love the game, +1 for TWI" or "TWI sold out, f***ers", how would a developer understand what the players want? Now I know that people who actually think that RO2 is the game that makes them 100% happy will less likely write a feedback that's going beyond "I love the game", because that sums it up for them and they are busy playing, but without describing what some people are bothered about, how would they know and might take changes into account?

A lot of guys are actually taking their time to give some feedback. That alone proves to me that they do care about this game/series/company and would like it to change to the positive. The ball is passed to TWI.

Besides the damage the release has done to new and old customer, working in a service industry myself, I know that the train has not fully left for RO2. Major improvements or new modes and content can always keep current players happy while regaining trust of angry/disappointed people. However, the first impression of any game/person/product/meal is the most decisive one. And there has been a big failure at the beginning up to now as you can see from the post of "AeRoPloDgE" above.

@AeRoPloDgE
You can see my system in the signature. I am running the same card as you and I haven't had any graphic problems with this game while the fps-rate changed a lot from patch to patch. For 2 weeks I am running at 60-80 fps again. Which driver are you running? I am using 260.52 or sth. It's weird that people with similar hardware are getting different performances.
