Compared to CoD RO was realistic :). Compared to OFP it was not. It was a pretty nice balance between the two, but now it feels mostly like CoD.

I don't use the quote feature at all because I'm a lazy *** Sasquatch :). Also I'm usually on my phone during my office hours and typing is hard lol. In this case I really didn't want to dig through so many posts to find it, but since it's become such an issue I will. I doubt illfind anything because so many threads are back twenty pages ago, but I'm fairly certain you said that.

Lastly my being in a realism unit has nothing to do with anything :p. Why would I think I'm better because of the clan I'm in in a video game?? Lol. This is doubly nonsensical because people in regular clans TR clans and realism units (as well as independent players) have all said the same damn thing! XD

It's not fun the way RO used to be.

That's why we're pissed.

But is RO even fun the way RO used to be??

So the two things ro2 is better is in Graphics/sound and in your opinion gameplay. Graphics/sound are a given its been 6 years...Really you dont know why ro2 isnt realistic? Have you ever done any research on ww2? Or even seen a movie? At this point even enemy at the gates is more realistic than ro2.

Nope, none at all. I guess that's where I got confused, I was thinking of firefight/guns realism, such as how a rifle or bullet will perform. While I probably read the whinning of a ww2 history nut, complaining about a missing badge or pin on a uniform...

So downright ww2 historically accurate realism = ro1 ???
Firefights/weapons/tanks/balistics/player movement realism = ro2?

I know which kind of realism I prefer ;)

Can you please stop making things up? I have never said anything of the sorts, I've not even hinted at it. Stop living in your own little fantasy world and get things right for a change. Thanks.

PS: Consider this a warning. Either you quote me, or not. But you don't get to blab around spreading misinformation after this any more.
Maybe he said things as the way they are. Maybe consider yourself a reality check.

Comparing RO1 and RO2 to me is very much like comparing Morrowind and Oblivion. The sequel adds much better technology and some big things that were missing from the original. Yet the sequel also left behind some things from the original that I deeply wished were kept in.

In Morrowind/Oblivion mods filled in much of this. I suspect that will be the case in RO2...

I played the BF3 Beta last night. Made me feel a LOT better about RO2, that's for damn sure.

In any case here's the quote in its entirety:

I am personally a fan of rifles and I would like to see more bolts in our rounds then semi's and full auto's, but our design team made a different choice. Which is perfectly fine by me personally as well.
It does add to the challange as rifleman, making the class even more special to me actually. It's the class of choice for people looking for a challange.

I can still handle myself pretty well in a semi/auto rich enviroment, but you have to pick your battles, litterally. For one, I make sure the servers i join don't run 64 player Apartments, because it's madness. I look up Pavlovs, Spartanovka, Commissars, RedOctoberFactory etcetera or any other map that allows riflemen to perform their role properly. Or I make sure that on the smaller maps I play on are on servers featuring 32 players max. I personally feel 32 to 40 players is the perfect number for RO2 maps which btw are not smaller then the RO1 TWI maps.

For your bandaging comment: As far as I'm aware of, the type of wounds that you now can bleed out on were not lethal in RO1. So this bandaging wounds is not 'cheating death' as you put it. Wounds just became more detailed in RO2: Instant death, death, slow death, bandagable bleedout wounds, non lethal wounds. In RO1 you had: Lethal, non lethal. In the Mod you had lethal, crippeling, non lethal.

I personally miss the slower-moving combat with bolties being in the majority. That's mostly it, tbh. There is however, the amount of content in RO1 than RO2, but we know that's going to change!

The problem isn't the Mkb's inclusion (though that is a little weird, especially considering the exclusion of the MG-42 and P-08), it's that there are just too many automatics in the game :)
Too many rare weapons to be more exact. I dont care about the too many automatics in the game, thats pretty historical (well except for the german army).

In any case here's the quote in its entirety:

Nowhere did he say it was cod like or was it even implied. You seem to have a silly notion that a game with more than a couple automatic guns is automatically a cod clone. It's obvious that's what you saw in his statement but your drawing your own conclusion there.

I'll honestly be happy when RO2 has some decent RO1 style maps. I know the release maps weren't the BEST RO1 had, but I feel almost all of them were far better than RO2s.

The big issue is the old maps were wide and open. You could attack multiple objectives and capture them in any order. This made the game more tactical. T

The current maps mostly feel like bc2 rush mode maps. Ok, cap that objective, great lets move on to the next. It is a very different kind of experience.

OH and provide server admins the ability to get rid of lockdown and protected areas.

I dont get why people claim RO2 is less realistic than RO, just because your character's movement speed is not modelled after a fat renactor doesnt make the game less realistic.

Only thing I dislike about RO2 are the unlocks, they feel so out of place.
I think they should just unlock all the weapons(since the system doesn't work anyways) and when you get to play as a hero you can choose Mkb and 4x scopes and other stuff like that.
