Burning rubble of Koenigsberg
Some of my favourite maps in RO:

Leningrad (they should make a Leningrad 24/7 instead of Danzig 24/7...)
Konigplatz
Smolensk's Stalemate
Berezina
Katowice
Kryukovo
Kurland Kessel
Festung Kurland (not a classic map but still great)

Unluckily just the first two are urban maps.

But still most would be almost unplayable cause of ultra accurate weapons and AI operated MG of tanks :(

My favorite map to use the little SU-76 to good effect
- that was a fun map. Also being able to bail out of a burning tank there and fight was more fun than any other except Arad Real Forests. You could defend the town, hill, farm with picked up weapons / fausts

cant remember the name of the map i realy liked, but it was probly one of the biggest, and had the russians defending the crossraods, then the ridge, then farm, then a trench system followed by a village then a river, with a trench system on the russian side... i really liked that map, probly becuase it was like an hour long and had a good range of vechicles to play with, HTs ATguns and tanks.

I think we're all anxiously awaiting the most obvious choice for a ro2 map. I am of course talking about SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAA

Actually I think it's Elnya.

Elnya is similar to Berezina in that it has widely spaced caps including ridges, towns, trenchs, and AT guns (and a fun too) glad you brought it up and
add Elnya to the list of good ones.

There is no river before the last AT guns and they are offset to one side with the train depot on the other side in the last cap on Elnya - Elnya ends at the train station.

Berezina ends at the trenches in front of the river edge town. Berezina has Russian AT guns, German half tracks, bren carriers, BT tanks, KV tanks, Panzer III, and Panzer IV short barrel tanks.

Elnya has them also - plus maybe stugs too - so they are close in load outs.

I think bringing old and making new maps would be great. But really I think the old maps should come first as they are tried and tested.

A dream come true for me though would be infantry jumping over the sides of half tracks and out the back. Games never get exiting from APCs correct. Exiting is the most dangerous part of being a panzer grenadier... but most games just dump you out safe and sound.

Partisan Forest was a favorite map of mine. Dark and confusing, great infantry play for a small group. A large scale tank/inf map with no invisible wall boundaries will be my favorite. Basically any large map where you can actually move around and have some choices on how you advance. And no fog,,

I don't think it was that popular, but I loved Tula Outskirts.

I don't think it was either but I sacrificied a good mark in my degree at University to bring the community that map !

I would love to do some mapping for RO2 (brining across RO-fullmj and tulaoutskirts) but alas I now have a job and wife and no time to spare :(
