IIRC only the short version of the 75mm fired Gr. 38 Hl/x (Hohlladung - hollow charge). With the long 75 not needing it for anything.

Yeah, he was speaking about the 76.2mm and the 75mm KwK40.
The Pzgr. Patr. 39 APCBC (same name for the 50mm and 75mm round)
Sprgr.Patr.34 HE (same name for the 50mm and 75mm round)
and the BR-350 APBC (F34 76.2mm)
F-534 or OF-350 HE/HE-frag ? (F34 76.2mm)
BR-240 SP APBC (45mm model 38)
O-240 HE-frag? (45mm model 38)

I doubt we will see the Pzgr. Patr. 40 (APCR) and the BR-350P (APCR) Because they were rare, especially in the case of the BR350P

For the ammo i'm going to wait some more news from TWI. Anyway, thank you for the infos ;)

Any APHE?

The Pzgr. 39 for both the 50mm and 75mm contained bursting charges, and a tracer.
I am not sure about the 76mm or the 45mm as there are 3 different shells two of which have a bursting charge and one that doesn't, and I have no idea which was the most common.

Ok guys, sorry for all this time, i'm going to collect the community suggestions soon :)

Anyway, i want to ask to everyone to nominate 2 Soviets and 2 Germans vehicles that you want to see in the game (in the future obviously). Just to create a sort of poll and see what the community wants. We can do that just for "fun", or for curiosity.....and maybe this could help TWI (as it couldn't)

Some simple rules:

1- Don't only nominate the tanks. If you can, please give a motivation for your choice.
2- The little variations of the same tank model count still as 1 (for example Pz III J early and late, that change only in the barrel length, or KV-1 mod. 1940 and KV-E that are the same tank but the second has additional armor plates)

I'll begin :)

For Soviets:

SU-76M (Produced in thousands of exemplars, this must be in. Low armored but very good firepower against infantry and tanks, with an high fire-rate. Excellent as support unit)

KV-1 mod. 1940 and KV-1E (Just to add two heavy tanks, widely produced, but with the need to create only one tank, cause the KV-1E it's the same of KV-1 mod. 1940 but with additional armor plates. These tanks will be heavily armored, expecially the KV-1E that, excluding top and bottom, has and armor thickness that is between 75mm and 110mm, but with a lower firepower against tanks than T-34 and SU-76M due to the older F-32 gun)

For Germans:

Pz III J late ver. (To compensate the new Sov. heavy tanks, and simply even because i'll like to see in game the late and more powerful version equipped with the excellent 50mm L/60 gun, with and excellent fire rate and good performance in AT role, equipped with also some APCR rounds)

Stug III G or F8 if the G was not available in Stalingrad (One of the main Axis SPG. 80mm front armor and 75mm L/48.....the perfect tank hunter for the Germans! In the right hands this vehicle can be lethal and really hard to knok out)

Pz IV F1 (Indispensable for the infantry support, but equipped also with some HEAT projectiles to face soviets tanks)

Now, it's your turn guys! Let's discuss a little bit about this :)

I'll begin :)

For Soviets:

SU-76 (just to add a self propelled gun to the Soviet side, no other particular motivations)

KV-1 mod. 1940 and KV-1E (.....just to add also an heavy tank to the Soviets :D)

For Germans:

Pz III J late ver. (to compensate the new Sov. heavy tanks, and simply even because i'll like to see in game the late and more powerful version)

Stug III G or F8 if the G was not available in Stalingrad (80mm front armor and 75mm L/48.....the perfect tank hunter for the Germans!)

Pz IV F1 (for the infantry support, but equipped also with some HEAT projectiles to face soviets tanks)

All of this is gooooooooooooooood:cool:

In addition to HEAT the F1 had APC, Cannister, Smoke, and HE. I believe that TW "dropped the baton" in regards to the lack of F1 in RO2. This was an important infantry support vehicle and its not even in! In urban street fighting on top of that. Are we supossed to use the IV F2 and its inferior HE projectile instead of dealing with tanks?

The thinner walled lower velocity 75 mm HE round had more explosive than the long 75's faster thicker walled HE round.

The Kwk 37 fired the same HE projectile as the Kwk 40, the 7.5cm Sprgr.34. Thought the case was different. The Kwk42 on the otherhand fired a diffrent HE projectile, the 7.5cm Sprgr.42.

Your sources might be wrong. Look carefully below at the charts of all three projectiles.

I must of misread :(

Good post clearing that up, I wonder why the Sprgr.42 has more explosives than the Sprgr.34 given that it was a higher velocity gun.

Perhaps they found a way to cram more explosive in the newer round without bad consequences. Even so it still does not match the 75 mm L/24 round.

Really great thread, Riccardo! :) Respect!

I vote for the Stug for the Germans

and for the KV-2 for the Soviets:

kv-2-heavy-tank-05.png

...I know its a very ugly tank, but it needs love, too! ;)

Reason: The 62nd Army, commanded by General Chuikov, had KV-2s to help in the defense of Stalingrad.
In this pic you can see how big this tank (especially the turret) of the KV-2 was: Link

Yes, but how many? If we are going to only be recieving about 4-6 tanks, I want them to be chosen by quantity, not uberhugecannonlol factor.

Finally was confirmed that T-34/76 will be the 1942 model.

OP update: updating the "6" section, be patient please :)

I'm going to add a sort of list of all vehicles wanted by the community.

"BETA poll" going to be upgraded:

Soviet

2 votes -- KV-1 mod. 1940 & KV-1E
2 votes -- SU-76
1 vote -- KV-2 mod. 1940

German

2 votes -- Panzer III J L/60
2 (4) votes -- Stug III G
2 votes -- Panzer IV F1
1 vote -- sIG33B

EDIT:

i was wrong, the SU-76 is the "closed" version, produced in low number. The version that should be in game, the "open combat room" version, produced in thousands of numbers, is the SU-76M (the same -wrongly- called SU-76 in OST).
