I thought its an appropriate time to resurrect the official RO2 is dying thread, but oh how the mood has changed since then. xD

Think its in purgatory waiting for a fix from an angel of enlighten.. Apparently it will decide if it gets sent back to try again or sent straight to hell..

While, playing crysis 2 pc mp drove me near crazy with punkbusterless hackfest in the early days, the game itself was very solid in terms of performance, game design choices that I play to this day.

Ro2 greatly disappointed me and many other serious players with its arcady design which takes away tense thrills of realistic tactical shooter and poor performance code work.

Some say it's fun to run and gun with semi rail guns, however I found bf3 has less accurate guns and much more fun to run and gun (actually, I run and gun is easier in ro2 than bf3, how weird, and ro2 feels a lot less real with its poor sound design)

I think ppl need to let go of TWI, cos they are almost dead in a sense to hardcore fans who want authentic, pseudo realistic tactical shooters.

They (TWI) are nearly dead in a sense, so let's just stop kicking the dead horse (TWI) and pay attention to modders who are still serious about integrity of the game mods.

I guess the day TWI stops batching out SDK will be the final day for RO series.

There is still some hope atleast i think if TWI cares about their original fans they will do something about the unrealistic design choices they made (probably not)

If I do not like it, so nobody must like it - is it such in mind?

No, as a long time gamer, when making purchase decision, games with weaker appeal tends to get passed easily.
In that sense, current hybrid weaker style will get surely much lesser attention from buyers in the future.

Now that the core fans know what TWI have in mind, they are history.
New comers will not open their wallet willingly knowing that this is much lesser form of arcade shooter.

Few stong points RO had over mainstream shooters are authenticity, serious...realism, CQB
Now they are practically gone, well I don't need to explain more..

Player count actaully says it all.

Funny but true. Its because they expect BF3 to be like that and NOT ROHOS. That is part of the problem!

Exactly.

If I suddenly became God and changed Battlefield formula into a combat simulator...ohwell, the player drop in RO2 would look suddenly look as insignificantly as a copy of Operation Flashpoint: Red River floating around in outer space. At least 70 percent of the Battlefield players would ditch the game. This means millions of players. People would rage on the BF3 board. There would be hundreds if not thousands of complaints on the board and people would ask me: ''Why the hell do you call this game Battlefield you idiot? It's time for you to give us what you promised - Battlefield. Not this
