Well after six and a half months heres my first addition to RO mapping

I was/am a total noob at Unreal Ed but bumbled my way through to create a story map, and a Game type not seen often

Basically Axis and Allied Spawn close to each other for a minute (the brutal first minute)
then based on Objectives and skill, either everyone dies, or some manage to escape and embarrass the Axis

The only true objective is to either escape or prevent the escapers.

the objectives are needed to open portals for escapers to "make it"

Axis cannot camp at portals, but can take objectives nearby to discourage escapers.

the central 4 objectives are the "no mans land"

the perimeter four objectives are prisoner heaven,nirvana (or near vana if they dont quite make it)

the Map is limited Combined Arms, with very rough terrain, and skilled driving will be needed.

Two Axis Officers will be needed to co-ordinate the wide area

I have reworked the Kaukasus map almost completly from the ground up (part of the learning!)

whilst the look is the same, there is lots...lots going on underneath the look :)

I am releasing as close to Armistice Day as i could, Out of respect for the lives lost in past, present and future wars.

I appreciate the map is still a bit rough in the detail texturing etc,
I will be away for a week next monday so i thought the community could playtest for me and i will return and tidy the baby up.

Thanks Guys Enjoy, im working through a few things already, couple of holes fixed, and replacing arches with Static meshes for file size and Optimise

Still working on that tricky first spawn, hope no ones noticed,:)

I also played the original Kaukasus Map...

2Change log
* increase game time to 30 maybe 40 minutes per round
* fix the holes in Catcombs (so far 3)(they wernt there in my playtesting honest! :) )
* move rifle pickup closer to Monastary
* change narrow ramps down from Cell doors (right)
* fix that tricky Axis first Spawn that comes alive later on.. (mainly when Allies hold Cell Doors)
* Put some deactivations in the Master Obj Manager
* add some Aliied only ammo areas
* Fix the Pedestrian Door Mover
* Add in rest of sewer
* Swap Attackers defenders (so Axis must recap rather than sit and pot shot away) allowing more Soviet wins (on Objective Basis) (Though have i mentioned its an escape map, :))
* Move Trees on tops of hills to valleys (more realistic)
* Fix dark wall in church
* Fix railings in church
* Maybe add a choice of destinations for Escapers, currently 3/4 return to Cells, 1/4 become Partisans.
Maybe all escapers go to "weapons Hut"and choose to Partisan it or escape again
* Maybe add another way onto cloisters Roof, as sharpshooter up there difficult to remove

Anyway look forward to reading thoughts gripes suggestions when i return next monday

Well Ive been hard at it and fixed all the bugs i found. :)

Change log:
Bugs and holes fixed
AntiPortals Added for speed
Added PArtisan Area spawn point Allies need Partisan Hut to activate
Added Lots weapons in Partisan Room (some dont describe properlybut work?)
Added more stairs to lower levels
Added library entrance room from Church
Tweaked old Crypt to be Zellen-T

Partisan Forward attack area, once "Schutz-Aufsatz" is captured the Allies can appear here with weapons.

**** EDIT CHANGE*** Once "Partisan Hut" is capped Allies will spawn off gameworld and can choose to arrive here.
Or back in Monastery or at Partisan Tank Area Oops i mentioned tanks:) Yes Added Tanks Motorcycles and Zis Truck workable
Axis have limited Pzkw IV F1
Allies have limited T34/76 and BT7 and T60
Allies motorcycle need main gate destroyed before it arrives
Zis is well Zis a death trap really :-O


***NEW*** Partisan Hut once capped by Allies is NOT recappable:) So allies will Always then have choice where to appear, at either of 4 locations

There are 2 sewers leading from Monastery, they are slippery and dark, as all good sewers should be :)

Destroying switches opens doors, near here are barrier doors, that can be grenaded, as can the main gate.
Main Gate can be shot through AND destroyed (Alas crushing and HE from Tank dont seem to have desired effect, though a grenade in the right spot does the trick ...practice required)

As Axis PRotect these switches and life is easier, As Allies destoying them opens the double doors to Zellen Tur. making escape much easier

Thats about it for now. I still have a few ideas i'd like to add to map, but just creating a few new textures for now.

{Also this is a BIG request, If someone knows how to write me a mutator that Counts a single event; in this maps case "T_Jump" lets "T_Jump" increment to say 30 (ie 30 prisoners escape) and then award victory to Allied team . oF course normal victory rules can still be applied}
And as im a total noob at mutators can show me how to implement it.

I would be very Very VERY happy.

Ok map is Beta3 in less than a week.
You will need Ahz_Two_Vehicles_Beta2
cos the bt7 and zis are there love your work AHZ guys thanksand Motorcyles courtesy of Diablo the cunning mind behind RO Racing Alpha1 among many other crazy ideas thanks mate.


Added lots of fun,map is HUGE both in scale and map size, so recommend downloading and popping it in your map folder, or your server download time to play may be high
The bots play pretty well for the first half of game and can follow you around to help cap. If only i could get them to pick up dead players weapons or pickups:-(

Anyway if you havemt checked this map out it may be to you peril as familiarisation with this map is essential or you will become frustrated easily

well its almost done , just need player feed back and a bit more server time.

I dont think there are ANY bugs, no dissappearing walls and the Initial Spawn IS fixed and NASTY :)

The changes are

NOT JUST A .ROM any more, u need a few extra files placed in folders, , the zip has them all in place

EXCEPT you need Ahz_Two_Vehicles_Beta2 INSTALLED for their awesome bf7 and zis truck

i have provided the files for Diablos motorcycle outfits :)

Things added to Beta 3:)

Added Allied Partisan Tanks :)
So Axis have a Pzkw IV F1 and Allies have choices of t60 bt7 and t34/76
and partisan sniper positions,accessed from underground bunker.
added moving planes Stukas :) but u need to find the trigger:) Oh ok its one of the Searchlights:)
Stukas triger the ONLY 2 strikes of Axis Artillery only on the Partisan spawn area so save them:)
Added motorcycles for Axis and Allied, Allied need to destroy Main gate before Motorcycle is available :)
Fixed up all spawn issues:) Yeah! Axis and Allied Atankers have their own spawns (at certain times)

Major overhaul of terrain to fix firing through terrain bug :-( so i added blocking panels in solid space so visibility drastically reduced in many areas..
Added a few shrubs :) Ha Ha Ha :) just a few :) all new ones non collision :)
Tweaked bot support, they will now cap 4 or five zones un aided.
Partisan Hut if captured by allies will be non recappable, this will lock Soviet Spawn to offworld area that allows them choice of returning to Monastery or Partisan Area, this will cause Axis much trouble. As partisans did.
Colourised the water from within and boosted reflectivity of water to almost obscure people under water.. needs a bit of work still.
telephones are call in spots for Allied Artillery, (inaccurate but annoying) Russians didnt really have radios.
added a German version of the Propaganda Gate:)
Added localised frogs to Aural experience.
Stripped back most of the landscape textures to save file space and optimise, besides you cant see much under the bushes:)

Im sure theres a few other things as well

Anyway my imagination has had an awesome workout here, as well as pushing my limits on UnrealEd, hopefully i have created an interesting and fun playable adventure for the community to indulge in :)

Ok gang well i got into my University course starts monday so two years out of action, will pop by when i can :)
enjoy ROGefangene alas wont have time for monastic sniper or other pipeline ideas... maybe by then i be into unreal ed 3 or 4 ...:)
