I wouldn't say that the competitive community is dead --- far from it. 3.SA played 6 ladder matches this month and we have 5 scheduled for September.
Anyways, the bigger scale of RO Fight Club does offer something new for clan gamers.
@ Mo: so far - we've played Odessa, Basovka, LyesKrovy & KrasniyOktyabr. It's up to the teams to choose which maps they want to play but that should give you an idea of which maps are popular so far.

and if more players show, i'd imagine larger CA maps would start being played 
koba......aside from 3.SA, there's only about another 7-8 other "active" clans in the entire RO community, EU+NA. while not technically "dead", it's about as low activity as it could possiblely get. granted we all know that HOS will bring everyone back, but still gotta come to grips with reality bud!

@ bswearer: you never wanted to attempt competing in the ladder - no matter how many teams were active so you're not the best person to comment on it. There are less clans active now, no doubt but competition is still strong.

Competitive RO is dead since the good clans left the ladder...or abadonned the game as a whole..

I hope you're not referring to your own clan, which left the ladder a day before our scheduled match.
our clan's decision to not compete at one site has nothing to do with the point being made.....anyone can look at the number of active clans over all remaining/active competition sites and see that it's 9 clans (with an average of 2 matches per clan per month...) it's not an opinion which you could write off depending on the person who said it, that's undisputable fact. competition is not strong, just stop lying to yourself.
yes this is about ROFC, and one of the very reasons why this idea started was because of the overall lack of any sort of organized play (due in part to many clans going inactive from competiting, regardless of the site) for those inviduals whose clans' weren't competing or for pubbers looking for something better than the 50player grindfests. if you acknowledge that point then you in turn must acknowledge the previous point made about clan activity.....sorry, but this simply isn't an arguement you're going to win, so stop trying to contradict me and take my comment for more than it is.
btw i never specified the inactivity of any particular site or competition source, merely pointing out the general status of the clan scene overal....you decided to mention names not i
with HOS news probably coming out of this weekend, i'm hoping that'll encourage some more players to show up to battle

well, I gotta agree with you there. Can't win this argument but instead of trying to take a **** on roladder. let's keep focused on ROFC.

koba, you're just keep failing at this......actually, what you could legitimately say is that i "took a ****" on pretty much the entire clan scene, not roladder if you look back to my initial comment, right from the start i addressed the activity of the clanscene as a whole, not just roladder in particular. i didn't say "roladder is dead", actually, i didn't even use the term "dead" until you started bringing it up. to quote myself:

notice my second post.....didn't even mention the name roladder. in fact once again looked at the entire scene from an all encompassing prospective. it was only after that you attacked me claiming that because i didn't compete at roladder that i apparently don't have the "right" or ability to comment on the activity level of that particular site as part of a much broader observation of the entire community. when i used the phrase "specified any particular site" i was referring to you implying that i was claiming that "roladder is dead" or that i was somehow attempting to belittle roladder. however all that i "specified" was that the in general the RO clan scene is at its lowest point of activity during its life.

Competition is lower but it's still happening. I'm just tired of all the variations of the "RO is dead" meme.

unfortunately i don't think i'll be at the battle tonight as i won't be back from PAX until maybe 10ish est.
shouldn't have problems with vent as none of the channels we use are passworded except the captain spots. Koba and Endo i'll message you the password to the captains channel so you can get in there and pick teams....also set up with access to move people.

nice matches the last two weeks.....10v10 and 9v9 for all the maps.
9v10 on fallen heroes is interesting, especially since we'll be seeing some more of that map in RO2

HOT BOUUUUUDDDDDDDDIIIIIINNNNNNNNNN EVERYONE!! GEAUX CRAIG! Come out some nub cake, screw your work for Monday morning, didn't you know? People fight and the next day they go back to their normal boring lives waiting for the next fight club to happen hehe
Fight Club has been going great for the rest of you that do not or have not turned out. We have been getting an average of about 14 to 18 players for some intense organized battles, mimicking some old BFE/IC games for those that can remember. So all should come out that can make it and meet some new RO players, and some old legendary faces of RO.
Furthermore it is well known Koba passes out vodka to everyone and Goose and I just pass out the king.. ahem. All must watch out though, since bswear doesn't drink, he steals every bodies wallet and their keys when they pass out.
All welcomed, talking to all you none "clammers" is it? The old term a certain someone use to use around here or still does?!

Haha no Flyod, although I have many friends that go there, and was at the LSU and State game. Will probably go to the LSU vs. Bama game if they both stay undefeated just to party and put the fence next to Boogie's on fire again.. (i kid)
Other than that, I like to talk like a corndog sometimes
Should come out though, bring ya gumbo, will have my cowbell
Edit: I also took my little brother to his first Death Valley trip for this years game. He said he would have gone to LSU instead of State, only if he came to a game before coming to my family's traditional university. Which I then called him a traitor the rest of the weekend lol.
