Hi, I've been having issues with crashing in certain maps with snow or in very big maps like CC's Ardon. Im clueless about what to do as I've updated all my drivers and DirectX and I still get the error. Im using an Nvidia 7300gs.

The above error message is what I get when testing a DH map. Several testers have no problems so it must be on my end. Haven't got a clue what it is. Tested the latest beta drivers, checked Direct X. All to no avail. Hope someone has a brilliant idea. I can't even test this map on foot, let alone in a tank.

Looks as if you have some corrupted or unacceptable files.
Have you verified you RO game cache.
My guess (& it is a guess) is that you have some mod files that are not being accepted.
Clean out your cache and maybe your static mesh folder, do "a verify integrity of game cache" and see if that helps.

Never know, it might just help, if it ain't there, its, somewhere else :p.

So I've got a pretty important update, long story so if you have this problem you might wanna skip to the end. I tried doing both your suggestions and sadly they didn't work (and I forgot to mention I had already tried verifying cache but whatever).

I cleared my cache and deleted the whole mesh folders, redownloaded them and after that failed I started playing with the cache size and precaching options to no avail.

So suspecting my videocard wasn't up to par as it IS pretty bad I started playing with the settings and discovered that I could get the game to reliably crash on Ardon by going into spectator mode and just moving the camera around really fast. This allowed me to repeatedly test different settings to figure out at which point the game stopped crashing.

I was pretty sad discovering the game would crash on anything above something like 1024*768 with the settings on "Low" but knowing that I HAD played maps like Leningrad on higher settings without crashes AND that bando's videocard is pretty badass; I decided to keep going and after a restart closing starting apps and processes before trying again (now don't panic, I use a little program that automatically closes unnecessary processes) and after going around doing this I fired up the game again and found that it didn't crash anymore. Pretty surprised I cranked all the settings and resolution to max and found that the game really wasn't crashing anymore.

SO, in short, the culprit is a process.
Being a retard and closing multiple things in a single strike, I have no idea what it is. So if bando would be willing to post or send me a photo of his starting processes I might figure it out in a couple hours. If he doesn't ever come back to the thread I will keep testing the hard way and keep this post updated for anyone having this issue.

I've tried all you said, to no avail. There was one little difference; I had the cache size at 512, changed it to 256 and was able to run around for 2 minutes longer before it CTD-ed on me. I'll monky around with the cache size.

setting graphics lower can help too, basically your videocard is running out of memory :X

disabling precaching should make less be loaded at the same time.

Ok, how do I do that? You want a summup of all the processes running on start up? Please give me a hint on how to do this and ill post it.

Setting the graphics lower is not helping. This is the only map it happens on. Every other map is fine. It CTD-ed this afternoon saying i ran out of virtual memory. I got 2 gigs of mem + 6 gigs of virtual.
Precaching is set to false as the link suggested.

in your steam games , highlight red orchestra, click on launch properties...click on launch options type in -heapsize 512000....make sure you use half your ram size......i occasionally had that problem with a geforce 5200....it went away after i got a geforce 7600 gt....

Edit: Forget it, the problem is back just as before; wasted time all in all.

I did notice RO eats up 85% of my two gigs of ram so I tried the heapsize thing, didnt work, might as well reinstall RO and work from there.
