The Inb4Reset group is about 100,000 accounts. Pre-order and Digital Deluxe numbers are also very high but I can't go into specifics there.

Bro...

That is good, there was a lot of love for RO2 in the beginning... I am glad you guys had such high sales.

I like living targets more than I like bots...I wish those people played more...

I should change my name to Brian, so I can be called Bad Luck Brian.
I waited till early morning yesterday to get the 25k OGG event. Went to sleep 15-20 minutes before the keys were posted. When I woke up, the announcement said that more keys will be posted when the group reached 26k. Later in the day, I signed off with 26k in mind. And guess what, I signed off right before the whole bunch of keys were posted "early". And now, it's all gone... :(

Well I think his point is that if everyone with the Inb4Reset would get a beta key, nobody here could give them enough server to play on :IS2: even 5% would blow it.

And for the Steam stats, they won't load, it's still buffering... could you please do a small screenshot instead? Because I'm pretty sure I'm getting around 2000 player online in the server browser at peek times..

I am pretty upset with how they have handled this entire situation...and in no way am I alone in this...

700 people (you know who you all are) play RO2 on a regular basis... sometimes double that on weekends....

IF this was a INVITATION BETA... Shouldn't we have been invited then??? and not made to grovel and Chinese firedrill over a few keys?

Wouldn't you want people with the most experience with your game, and most forgiving eye when it comes to certain types of bugs, the first hands on experience in a public beta...

You know those people who stuck by you last time there was a release, and still play today... not the 90% who abandoned RO2 in the first few weeks never to fire it up again...

The first crack at a public Beta should have been all of us with In B4 Reset...

Then RO2 Players who still play but do not have that 'achievement'

Not some gaming mags... and the population with zero RO experience, loyalty or interest...

This is a colossal error by Tripwire, and slap to the face to this community who has given this company loyalty, and love.

What did we do to deserve for you to treat us in such a way Tripwire??

Go look at the comments here and on Steam... This is a terrible mistake.

You F'd up TripWire....

Well said...I agree completely

The only location I know that has not used their allocation of keys is PC Gamer.

But as I said, in the near future we will be opening up the beta more for our next phase. This will be to test more performance as well as hardware compatibility across a wide range of machines. We are not planning to limit that phase of the beta so it will be much easier for those that want to participate in the beta to do so.

I really think there could have been a better and smarter way to hand out these keys. If you want a small player base to begin with that is fine, but how you are handing them it is terrible. You are ****ing with your fans, and I don't think you mean too.

Maybe if you had set up some sort of register that you could randomly select people from and send them e-mails, rather than have them run around like headless chickens scouring the internet for an unused key that might as well be a golden ticket.

That was done since many many months, called RS Beta Tester.

I can't understand you guys, you pay a bit money and get hundreds or thousands of hours fun with RO2 and for that you want a key for RS?
The way they give out the keys is a good thing to get many more players interested in the game.
They're working on getting more players and we, the community will benefit from that.

Nah... that is a moot point.

For just because they say they have those sorts of numbers with InB4, that does not mean even 5% of those people play the game on a regular basis.

In fact in the last year the player base has been a steady 700 or so.. which is why I use that number... sometimes lower, sometimes higher... but right around 700 is a good avg...

Sure ... the Humble Bundle saw a big spike in RO2 population, that 1,862 peak players today are a big part of that, as is the upcoming buzz from RS...

We see 2000 on at one time on occassion... but only really early on and lately on weekends...

The Steam stats are located In the Store Tab... then hit Stats... Then hit Top 100 games... then scroll down, and you will see it on the lower half of the list.

Just refreshed it again..

Playing 1,657 Peak 1,862 -

I don't lie... go look.

Unless of course there is that other RO2 community that I am not privy to experiancing.

unfortunately, the way they handled the key giveaway was difficult to understand and was very disturbing in all-ways, and many people who hunted these websites and stayed in front of the websites refreshing these lists or that Facebook got, not only one key but multiple keys..as i saw in the previous posts:

First of all what you are saying is 100% understood, the complain and disturbing thing is how these keys where distributed....it was a very big slap in the face of your fans......

secondly, even if PC Gamer still have keys the same thing will happen two or three people will grab the whole keys in a second....like what happen here and there..and for sure most will have two or three keys to their friends

Already far too many goofballs for a closed beta anyway, imo.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to test the communication mute options. I hope that has been worked on.... If they're there to help, great. Many are just there to demo the game and berate.

Its already hard to communicate with "real" testers and devs about problems or questions with game mechanics, etc. during a game when a possible issue pops up. Far too many clueless individuals spreading a lot of false information and/or constantly spamming the chat to do a banzai charge.

Your mileage may vary, but its getting a little scary.....:(

100% agree

I have more than 310+ h of game play in RO2 and never saw 2000+...on the servers, it is only 4 to 5 servers nearly full and the rest is empty or 2-3 players playing with bots just to level up

Just to drive this point home: The best way to participate in our tests (in the future) is to be part of our forum community with constructive feedback and detailed bug reports.

We do not know who you are (member with 0 to 5 posts) :( Make us know who you are (and how awesome you are) by being part of our community here.

That was done since many many months, called RS Beta Tester.

Yup, I could have done that I guess, but with a baby on the way, and a business to set up, and the rough state of the game at the time requiring time commitments I could not make... I figured I would pass, as at that time I would not have been much use.

I can't understand you guys, you pay a bit money and get hundreds or thousands of hours fun with RO2 and for that you want a key for RS?

You see, this is the sentiment that I feared Tripwire was having.

Yeah forget the fact that we are the core base of your games.

Forget the garbage we had to put up with on the release of the game, and forget the promises made on making up for remaining loyal and sticking with you...

Now its...

"You pay a 'bit' of money, and now you want something!?!!?"

Err yeah... being your biggest diehard fans, I figured that you would want us to sit in the front row, or at least inside the stadium so you could hear our response to your new Album... but you have the idea that its better to keep us in the parking lot and be at the whim of scalpers...

What you think we think we should get RS for FREE??? (even though that was the old promise)..

No... We don't.

We will gladly pay...

Because we are your CORE - WE WANT YOU TO F-CKING SUCCEED!!@!!

Being the most experience RO gamers in existence, you would think you would want us to see the new version, before you start putting it out to a finicky dumbed down COD audience, who do not have the same level of bug tolerance...

The way they give out the keys is a good thing to get many more players interested in the game.

Nah...

It is a terrible strategy... because you are ignoring the Core, and hoping noobs get it, when they probably won't...

Unless of course there is a core of Veteran, Solid gamers out there in the intertubes telling people... "Oh my god, I know that the RO2 launch was a total disaster for most of you, but now RO2 is solid, and this new Rising Storm is even better.... You guys have to get your hands on it!"

That creates the buzz... WE CREATE THE BUZZ!

All a game company can do is create Hype....

What is happening now is a sputter... and quite honestly a boiling over for the loyal core gamers who actually SPEND time with RO2... We feel shorted, overlooked, and now with sentiments like what you echo, and the way they are handling this INVITATIONAL BETA... spat upon..

Listen... RO2 is in my book, the best FPS ever made...

They're working on getting more players and we, the community will benefit from that.

Yeah that's nice an all...

However... First crack at the Beta Invitation should have been the Core community... We are the ones who Pre-order, We are the ones who defend the game - IN GAME, We are the ones who the game is built for...

Getting new players could always be introduced quite easily once more of the kinks were worked out and the game was polished... So we don't have to sit there and tell the hyperventilating new players who are freaking out over game crippling bugs, "to relax, calm down... tripwire will fix it, don't worry they will make it right, its ok just give them a bit of time"

Oz of prevention is worth a Lb of cure...

We are feeling no love from Tripwire... and it sucks.

Just to make that clear - I'm not from Tripwire.
And I agree with the points you made, but complaining about not getting a key is useless, you've the option to get a key or simply wait a bit for an open beta or the release.

Yoshiro, I played now a few matches and it was pretty nice but I asked myself if there will be a honor level for each game or one which covers both games? I think it would be better if you have your RO2 honor level also in RS and just level the new classes.
