rise in griefers?

why hello again forumn

Today i decided i would help some people along on a normal server (lvl 5 dedicated medic)

i joined before the game started and went my lvl 4 ss to start me off, i then switched to medic and noticed this.

there were 2 griefers startig arguaments, trader blocking and welding people in to places where high level specimens are.

so i left this game and went on begginer, i only killed things that grabbed onto me so i wasnt being a nuker. and lo and behold, amongst the level 0/1's there was 2 lvl 6's, one support and one sharpshooter, working together, one was welding EVERYTHING and the other was trader blocking/nuking

yet again i tried to find another server, i went on one from my favourites (its only there because i met nutterbutter) it was a hard server, and yet again, more griefers

so is anyone else noticing the rise in griefers?

i think votekick should be a standard in ALL servers

Unfortunately, when the game's on sale for just $5-10 for a bit, we get an influx of people with nothing better to do than throw away their whole previous paycheck on a game(that they may not even want to play) just to find new ways to make others as miserable as they are. Don't worry, it'll die down in a few days/weeks when they move onto the next game =)

i hope your right..... one oe my mates who bought it got to lvl 3 firebug, got hated on and griefed then ragequit for 'at least a month'

Not much you can do unless there is kick voting or a server admin available unfortunately. Like Xienen said, Sale/Free weekend syndrome will die off in a week or so.

Try to stick on servers where kick vote is enabled or where theres normaly an admin, thats all that I can say really

just look for server that use antiblocker and has no FF (info on bottom left hand corner in your server browser when u click on server before connecting) and there is 99% chance there will NOT be any griefer
and for those dumbF... that trying to wield the doors, easy solution (unless you play lv3+ firebug) just throw couple nades on those doors

I don't know whats worse, griefers or the morons who connect and wait 10 seconds then leave and come back 5 min later and leave again or the idiots who try to give everyone orders and die in the 1st 4 min and blame everyone else. I ban them all just the same.

Can't blame said morons. They're usually lagging. Not everyone has the perfect internet connection, although I wish I did. A few times, I find myself joining a server and spawning, only to find that I run slow as ****. That's due to lag, and I can't fix it on the go, so I really have no choice but to exit and rejoin the same server (or different servers).

But yeah...I'd say that the self-appointed generals would be generally worse because most of them can't play for ****. Whereas griefers just prevent the rest of the team from playing, but usually griefers have to have some level of skill to pull that off and not die or whatever.

I think you'll find that most backseat drivers in games such as this one are actually really terrible players who try to sound important by telling others what to do because they never look the part by doing it themselves. Telling them to shut up usually doesn't work because, by no coincidence, they also tend to be self-centred teenagers who filter out everything they don't want to hear, to the extent that they literally won't realise that you spoke against them half the time. Your best bet is simply to ignore them and let your actions, not at all influenced by their "expert advice", speak for themselves.

Or knife them. Or throw nades at them without warning them. Or plant pipes everywhere. But pipes will just piss other people off.

Sollutions:
1. Play on servers with anti-block enabled
2. Play on servers with kickvote enabled
3. Play on passworded servers with friends
4. Play on servers with active (reasonable) admins

I wouldnt recommend FF servers because as much as you can kill them, they can also kill you, and since you dont respawn instantly...

i call it nuking, you know when someone lvl 6 (ss) joins a low difficulty server and rapes EVERYTHING

Griefing is intentionally doing what you know will piss off, or at the very least, annoy someone to extreme degrees. It's trolling, but in-game.

I sometimes give orders, but this is more along the lines of expert opinion.

Like i see a L0-3 Commando on hard. Fair enough, he's new.

I then see him use a shotgun. I'm concerned for his mental health now, and try to help by giving him orders about what his perk uses weapon wise. I also sometimes tell people not to shoot scrakes with 9mm, but that level of stupidity is few and far between.

I consider using the M14 in general as griefing as the people who use it are prone to stealing kills, not aiming and raging scrakes and fleshpounds on teammates. I rarely find someone who isn't "griefing" with the M14.
