The Gew.98/40 rifle, also known as Puska 1943. Minta (Rifle, model of 1943, or 43M in short)
was developed at Hungarian FEG arms factory in around 1941 under German contract.
It was intended for German troops.

43M have been just made to confuse some hip shooters, who believe they
can suppose everything. :)

He means it has been named M43 even thought it has been produced from 1941 onwards.

The name M43 comes from the adoption of the Hungarian forces, not from the date of the start of production.

Ah, yeah, I got that, but I didn't get the hip-shooters bit. Anyways, if it was adopted in 1943 by the Hungarians, even if production did start in 1941, surely no one at Stalingrad had it? Or did the Hungarians export it to surronding nations which adopted it as a service rifle?

The Hungarians produced it for the German Army and then adopted it in 1943 for themselves.

So it's entirely possible that there would be some G98/40's (german designation for the M43) around in Stalingrad.

It doesn't really look notable enough to include in the game. I doubt it was used in that big of numbers.

Well, Most of them probably were used in Second line units and anti partisan units anyway.

I'm for adding it, but only if TWI has some free time. :p
