When a rifle has a bayonet on it and no ammo left, why not throw it like a javelin and catch a German through the heart with your thrown rifle?

That's actually perfect, since there's the problem that the MG34 has unlocks and the DP doesn't. Lvl 25, blades on the pan magazines, throw the empty ones like shurikens for stealth kills.

as for the javelin spear trowing rifle

there is one confirmed occasion where this happend, during the italy invasion off greece. A greek soldier who was out of ammo, attached his bayonet to his mannlicher-Schoenauer rifle and trew it , killing an italian

I'm not surprised. You just shouldn't mess with a javelin-wielding angry Greek. They invented the Olympic Games after all and since ancient times they've been throwing deadly javelins all around the Balkans.
