Not that far fetched but I would like to see a "what if" mod for US/Brits vs. USSR with the technology of 1945 to 1949. So Perhings vs IS-3 + whatnot.

Imagine if WWII played out much differently than we know it. What if jet fighters soared across the English channel during the Battle of Britain, carrying nuclear payloads? What if Kursk was not the site of the largest tank battle in history, but the site of the largest hover tank battle in history? What if Germany's infamous 8.8 cm FlaK gun was actually a particle cannon? What if T-34's stood on four legs and climbed the ruins of Moscow alongside Soviet defenders clad in power suits within the miasma of Earth's atmosphere, saturated in poisonous gases resulting from years of indiscriminate chemical warfare, through which Nazi drop pods launched from the moon sent in seemingly endless waves of dual-MG42 wielding astrotruppen?

What if there was a mod for HoS portraying the above description?

That's something I would definitely get into.

great game if it can pull it off and only if the person makes it there own ideas and imagination. rather than throwing together a lazy starwars meets stargate world. i feel an more arcady shooter would be better for this sort of thing. what if people still used guns but we had more armor. what if instead of planes we used blimps (what if we sailed the skys.), or instead of tanks we used walkers. all of these are good a tad cliche. but you catch my drift. these are what a an alternate reality/ sci fi storys are all about, what if. :IS2:

id love to see one but its got to be good, create its own world. excite ones imagination while making it spring to life. create your own characters, history, environments, technology, etc... the list goes on and on but the reality is, an alternate reality is much easier said than done. do to the shear mass amount of time required. however that's why people don't make to many alternate universe mods is because it takes to much work and effort to do it for free.

If anyone is actually considering doing this mod seriously then I'd like to offer myself up as a modeller/texturer. Always had a love for anything WW2 related as well as crazy mechs. I was actually planning to start making a WW2 tank-mech for fun at some point anyway so.. doing it for a mod would be a great bonus! Get in touch.

personally, here's something I see as both a fun game, and perhaps a help with this sort of mod.

1)Identify a random event in history, of at least mild to significant importance. The longer the event occured before the mod's time period, the more difficult

2)Change the outcome. This can either be a simple "yes/no" or "win/lose" change, or more complex.

3)Get with some friends, or do this by yourself: Try and muse out the ripple effects on history, including both empires and technology. Try and get to the date at which your mod takes place.

4)Set up the mod conflict with what you have....and then reflect on how wildly powerful even a small change is!

I once tried this with the Ottoman Invasions, Prussian Wars, and Genghis Khan with some pals....and things turned out weird O.O
